First announced four years ago at Ghostbusters Day 2022, and later confirmed to be a Netflix exclusive, the highly anticipated Ghostbusters animated series has been a topic of discussion on social media for quite some time now.
We were recently made aware that Netflix would be previewing the animated series at Annecy Animation Fest on June 21st. Just weeks before this announcement, we received rumored details about both the Netflix Animated Ghostbusters series and movie that is in the works by Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider. Since this year’s Ghostbusters Day falls before the planned preview at Annecy Animation Fest, it has led many to wonder what kind of news, if any, we would get for Ghostbusters Day 2026.
Well, hold on to your hat, because Ghost Corps just dropped a promo for the NYC Ghostbusters Day event which may contain a clue pointing to some sort of unveiling before Annecy!
When I saw the promo graphic on Twitter, I couldn’t help but notice what looked to be a Netflix logo obscured in the bottom right hand corner of the graphic. Luckily ghosthead Popular Tripe, who recently produced excellent film location tours on YouTube for Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II as well as posts a daily Ghostbusters image on Twitter and Bluesky, confirmed my discovery.
Ray Stantz: "This ecto containment system that Spengler and I have in mind is gonna require a load of bread to capitalize. Where are we gonna get the money?"
Peter Venkman: "I don't know. I don't know."

It’s difficult to say what will happen for sure, but the Ghostbusters Day promo graphic does point to something related to the Netflix animated series being announced on Saturday, June 6th in NYC. If I had to guess, I would imagine Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, who are scheduled to be at the event and are producers of the series, may announce the official title of the Ghostbusters Netflix series alongside a logo and / or logotype of the series. Either way, I expect the bulk of the reveal will take place at Annecy later in the month.
