Ghostbusters: Night Shift Announced at NYC Ghostbusters Event

As many of you know, ghostheads from all over the world gather at the Hook and Ladder 8 Firehouse in Tribeca on the Saturday before Ghostbusters Day.

This year, as we anticipated, the special guests were Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, who were the co-authors of the last two Ghostbusters films as well as the Directors of Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire respectively.

After handing out awards for the Ghostbusters Give Back charity initiative, Jason and Gil introduced the showrunners of the new Ghostbusters Netflix animated series, Ben Hibon and Elliott Kalan.

Shortly after the introduction, a cloth was pulled from a large sign which revealed the logo and logotype of the animated Netflix series, which is now titled Ghostbusters: Night Shift. The logo has a lot of character to it, as it is nothing like we have seen before for another Ghostbusters project. It features a unique pop-art sensibility alongside some graffiti stencil in the logotype.

Despite not being able to attend the NYC event, this news is incredibly exciting as the unveiling of Ghostbusters: Night Shift pretty much happened like we thought it would. We were given no inside information, just deductive reasoning and experience covering Ghostbusters for almost 30 years now.

Get excited to receive a full preview of Ghostbusters: Night Shift later this month at Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026 starting June, 21 and watch the full announcements at the NYC Ghostbusters event below from the Ghostbusters YouTube page.
