Ok, your original post was asking about how to get the 12“ figures without paying stupid prices. If $60 per figure is stupid to you, you easily could have already known that this line isn't for you. The retail on each 12” figure is $60, and always has been.

If that's too much for you fine, but don't complain about it, because these figures aren't like the crap you can go pick up at Toys R Us or Walmart.

I've seen them, and they are about the same…the batman figure I saw was very well made…

and mattel makes it..same company that makes the ghostbusters 12 Inches..

These are also made in much fewer numbers than the ones you see at Walmart, etc. Thus raising the cost to produce them.

^^ Anything that's a web-only release and primarily geared to a collector market is going to be produced in much smaller numbers, and consequently command a higher price point.

If Mattel thought there would be a market in the big box stores we might have seen them there. Maybe they didn't want to risk the figures being damaged on store shelves.

If you're saying $60 is expense, then I really doubt you seen a lot of collector figures.

I have a Rambo 2 doll about the same size of as the Ghostbuster figures, it's got a rubber based chest that's sculpted to look exactly like Stallone in the movie with scars and everything, that cost me over $100. It came with weapons, and accessories you see him use in the movie, and they're extremely detailed. Compared to most, Ghostbusters is one of the cheaper collector figures.

You may think that they're the same quality and argue that for the “stupid price” but I'm sure people who have figures like these will tell you that the quality is not the same as a mass produced $12 figure.

Peter ever heard of entertainment earth? go to the website and check out the prices..there are very good figures there for a reasonable price..they have the michael jacksons right now for a reasonable price..39.99.

trust me peter..I go to the comic con every year too…heard of sideshowcollectibles? that company also preys on collectors by selling their 12“ for 80 dollars or more..i'd rather buy the hasbro star wars version, very well made…at celebration V in florida I picked up a mace windu, dooku and obi wan for 20 dlls each at a booth and opened them…very detailed with realistic clothing and everything..

60 for a ghostbuster 12” is too much, and Mattel doesn't even make very good toys.

I don't understand why you ask a question, get an answer and then disagree with everything everyone has said?

It's really irrelevant what other figure you have or don't have, the 12" GB figures cost what they cost. Consider all the accessories and smaller parts that are created and added to these figures. The Michael Jackson example you gave has no accessories so therefore is cheaper to make, produce and to sell. I'm sure the other figures you've listed are in a similar situation.

Now don't get me wrong, I personally do actually agree with you that they are overpriced so therefore I haven't purchased them. I also own a couple of 12" non GB figures that cost less than these and are in my opinion better likenesses and overall better produced, but these figures were purchased years after their original releases. When they were first available at cons and online they were $100 plus, $40 more than the GB's, so again, I didn't buy them. Over time the prices dropped into my range and I picked them up on eBay in unopened boxes. Maybe your best hope/bet is that in the future you can pick them up lose for a lower cost or maybe in the long run the value of them will fall to below the original price tag. If what you're asking is “where can I get these brand new collectables which are widely sought after for less than their retail price?” then the answer is….. no where.

I might go for the 2 packs when they are released as it works out at the same $60 for the single figures but with a bonus amount of accessories, to me, that seems more reasonable.

Anyway, this isn't to cause any trouble, it's just my response, even though this is the market place and I'd hoped this thread was about someone selling 12" GB figures.

It's funny how you came here asking for a reasonable price for the Ghostbusters figure, and all you do is argue when everyone gives you facts. Plan and simple answer, if you don't want to pay for it, then DON'T. But it's going to be hard to get these for cheaper then $60 considering that is the price for each and they're still fairly new.

The Batman figure only has batarangs, not very hard to make. Proton Pack, has working lights, and a lot more detailed paint jobs. So yeah, comparing is those are irrelevant because they all have different specifications and different quality.

And the Michael Jackson figures listed also come with no accessories.

The guy just wants to complain.

You asked for a price on them, you were given it. That's the facts kid. If you don't like it that's fine, don't buy them, but don't sit here and argue with people and complain about the price as if we're the ones setting the prices. The figures cost $60 retail. They're rare now so they're even more. Get over it.

I agree, that was my point. $60 seems pricey, but you get detailed accessories, proton packs, traps, ecto goggles. Any cheap 12" collectables or figures lack this. There's a ton of stuff that could come with that Jacko but it doesn't and it's not essential but I personally wouldn't want $40 proton pack less GB figures. I think Hot Toys figures are a prime example that paying more gets more.
