360 vs PS3

It's good to see this particular subject remain pretty civil… it wound up getting a little rabid over on GBFans.

The game should play pretty well on both systems, it's like James said, what really matters is what you want to play on it after you finish Ghostbusters. Playstation 3 has the Bluray, but 360 has Halo and Left 4 Dead.

yep and ps3 soon have ‘infamous’ to add to it, so i think both systems are simply worth it

There is one more difference as some have mentioned, but didnt exactly mention.

They are two different control schemes. You should pick the one you are more comfortable with. I've always had a PS2, but in honesty I was never fully comfortable with the controls. I like the xbox360 controller better.

Do you want to clam ghost by way of Six-axis(PS3) or by the button press(Xbox)?

I only one case of RROD and ever since I've had a pretty good console with no problems what so ever. If though the problem was bad, it was of no lose since I got eh console replaced immediately for free by Microsoft. So I accept the apology AND they gave me a few months of xbox live gold for free or my trouble. I once thought the visual of the console went bad, but I released it was he cord and not the system it self. it was actually my fault beause I crushed the cord on a heavy box.

Both systems are identical and you pretty much get the same experiences from both systems. Regardless of some say, even the PS3 had hardware and software problems. You win with either system. As Yahtzee says “I can't really tell the difference between Blu-ray and HD enough to really say it is an advancement.”

My personal opinion, the PS3 is not worth the money. At least not for me. Ive been having too much fun with my Xbox360 at the moment.

You won't be obliged to play with the Sixaxis mode, you'll be able tu button play with the PS3 controllers too.

And what are the PS3 hardware problems? I've never heard about those.

As a die-hard PS3 defender, I'd say the ps3 is better, depending on the model you'll take (HD-D, card reader, usb ports).

And they might be PS3 Ghostbusters packs as well.

I'm a Wii and PS3 owner. I got a PS3 because the Wii was losing my interest in the games I like to play. I bought my PS3 after the first price drop and been enjoying it ever it since.

I opted for the PS3 over the 360 due to the hardware issues. I've got only two friends left that haven't had a system fail. Though my PS3 did die the other month, after the ‘Yellow Light of Death’ made it's unwanted appearance. I had a replacement 60GB model in under a week from Sony. MS has just recently extended their 3-year warranty of the RROD to cover the new E74 error if you're thinking 360.

I also went with the PS3 for features that were built into the system over the 360 like Blu-ray, wi-fi, the (at the time) PS2 backwards compatibility, free PSN access and the swappable 2.5" hard drives. Some of those features the 360 doesn't have, others cost way too much than they should for what MS is charging for.

And finally as for games, both systems have great libraries that will keep you busy for hours.

Best advice I could give is look at what system will give you the features you know you're going to use and what games you want to play.

Some merchants are starting to note complaints about the PS3's having their Bluray Players crap out on them after long term use. Essentially the error some are getting after this happens is bricking the system with a blue screen (ironic ain't it). Last I heard however the ratio of systems that are cropping up these problems are well within the acceptable rate of failures for electronics manufacturing…so at the moment it is not being viewed as a problem…yet

I prefer the PS3… never been a huge gamer so lots of “exclusive” titles doesn't mean a lot to me. Plus, I'm a HUGE movie buff, so the Bluray player was the definite edge for me. You can look at it this way (or at least when I bought it), a Bluray player was $400, the PS3 was $400… so you can look at it either as you're getting the gaming part of the PS3 for free, or the Bluray part, since its the same price.

That, coupled with the fact that the xBox controller has just never felt comfortable to me, is the reason I went with a PS3.

Basically, what dudes are saying is that it's much of a muchness. You may just as well pick which console you think is prettier to look at, or which you can find at the most reasonable cost!

That's not what anyone is saying. There are clear differences between the systems that are there to be considered.

Cost, yes, is one of them. Games, and other capabilities (like Bluray), are actually meaningful comparisons to be making.

…..fanboy much? lol just poking fun. Just so we are on friendly terms I am not bashing the PS3. The system just never interested me…..yet. I know it has good games like MGS4, and a few others, but they just don't peak my interest enough. I am having more fun with Halo, Gears, Fable, and others. In fact I am still having too much fun with my PS2 with .hack and kingdom hearts I and II.

Anyway, just a quick notion and this goes to all game systems. What is the point of a feature if you don't use it? If you don't use the six-axis for more than one or two games, then why have the six-axis at all? There have been problem with the PS3 such as hardware problems including I one that is similar to the RROD, but also software problems where some updates actually erased all your data and crashed the PS3.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am a simplistic gamer. I grew up playing Atari 2600 and the NES consoles and such. I didn't really care for the features of a game system that goes beyond playing games so I never really cared for “It plays DVDs” and what not.

So again preference, but I think one shouldn't just buy the system because “OMG IT IS A PS3!!! or xbox or what not.” You should buy it for the games.

We are gamers….not console-ers.
