Sorry to double post, but I got a reply from 88MPH in relation to a message I sent asking about the prices.

88MPH Studios Offer:

GN: $24.95

Shipping: $13

Additional box for postage protection.

GCC Offer

GN: $24.95

Shipping: $12

Standard protection.

So the shipping is actually $12 for Graham Crackers edition? I remember pre-ordering a long time ago and I could've sworn the shipping was only $5. I hope this doesn't mean my order was canceled or anything like that…

I believe the $5 shipping was a mistake, as I've talked to some people who say it was actually $12.

Thats still a lot for a g. novel.
And I'm sorry but 12 dollars shipping is insane…..on any g. novel.

Yeah I gotta agree with Divia that nearly $40 dollars for a graphic novel (GB or otherwise) is a lot. Not only that but the shipping cost (which contributes to the overall cost of nearly $40 dollars) is insane as well on any graphic novel (again GB or otherwise). I would have gotten this GB graphic novel, but I gotta think about more important things. I'm tight on money as it is and what with graduation with my Bachelor's right around the corner I'm gonna have to start paying back student loans right away (not too mention car payments on my new but still used 1996 Toyota Camry) and just can't spend $40 on something like that right now. Had it been only a little more than the $3 or so dollars that was paid per issue of the Legion Series (I'm talking around $20 at the very most with shipping and tax included in that total price of $20 like someone else in this thread said as well) than, yeah, I more than likely would have bought this Graphic Novel. No way I'm buying it at a steep price like that. So it looks like myself as well will miss out on this.

Yeah, $37 dollars is a lot for a hardcover of any comic. Even $24 is a lot for 4 1/2 comics. For example, check out this thread where people are complaining about $20+ for 6 full issues:

Yes, but when are you ever going to see something this cool again? Never, that's when. If you don't buy it now, you're never going to be able to buy it. Sure, it's quite a lot of money for what it is, but unlike Marvel who can afford to churn out graphic novels at $20 a pop, 88MPH is a tiny independent company, and if $24.95 basic cost is how much it's going to cost them to cover their production costs, then so be it.

Eh, I needed to get it anyways. Not only to complete my collection but 'cause my poor site seriously needs an update.

Nate your link wouldnt work

I dont care how cool it is. If I dont have any money I just dont have any money. If I had a money tree outside I'd shake it and then buy it, but alas thats not gonna happen.

The more I think about it, the more I dont like the idea of these graphic novels. I have a funny feeling that Seb is gonna try to sell them through his studio, charge and insane amount of shipping and the price will be nearly 30 bucks. I mean why not sell the hardcovers through diamond? Isnt that what most people do? I dont understand.

Also, think about this. If we the “hardcore” fans are debating about buying the hardcover you can beat the farm that no causal fan is gonna be buying this little gem for 40 bucks.

If Seb sells 250 I'll be impressed.

I understand that I'm probably never going to see something this cool again, but as Divia just pointed out if I don't have the money as well than I just don't have the money. It might be something cool to have, but I think I'll get over not having it and the world won't come to an end because I don't. I'm also not sure how your financial situation is Peter Randall, but like I said I'm just finishing out college and in order to continue making my car payments and paying back student loans I'm probably gonna have to have a second job in addition to my job at the theatre (which I'd work on Saturday and Sundays in order to work my actual full-time job during the regular week) in order to pay both things.

Divia also makes an interesting point about if we hardcore fans are debating about buying the hardcover that it's more than likely casual fans will be turned off by how expensive this hardcover/graphic novel is to the point of not buying it. I mean I know I could buy 4 paperback Stephen King novels/short stories for the total price of $37 dollars that 88 MPH is asking for this hardcover/ graphic novel.

It's the best way of collecting the series and ensure nobody misses an issue

I have a funny feeling that Seb is gonna try to sell them through his studio, charge and insane amount of shipping and the price will be nearly 30 bucks.

He's destributing to the entire US and it's one dollar higher then Graham Crackers, by the philosphy GCC was also insane to charge $12.

I mean why not sell the hardcovers through diamond? Isnt that what most people do? I dont understand.

It's more expensive to do it through Diamond.

Also, think about this. If we the “hardcore” fans are debating about buying the hardcover you can beat the farm that no causal fan is gonna be buying this little gem for 40 bucks.

That may be true, but we're also not telepathic, we don't know that they're thinking.

If Seb sells 250 I'll be impressed.

That last comment wasn't needed, it was overly negative and it's nto exactly helping with anything…if you're not happy…what would you suggest to maybe fix things?
