88MPH NEEDS YOU NOW

I have a funny feeling that Seb is gonna try to sell them through his studio, charge and insane amount of shipping and the price will be nearly 30 bucks.

I was in a typing fury and didnt mention that the new ongoing would be like this. Sorry my bad. Well, I was wondering if he'd do that.

I dunno why we need a hardback graphic novel anyway. Paperback ones are just fine and cost less. I'll have to check but aren't they typically 16.00 bucks or something? Anyway, they are cheaper. I mean its nice and all to have hardcover but I dont see the need for it. If the price were lower I would see more people buying it.

And I know the theory as to why people make TPB but to make it hardcover?

I'll think of some other ideas later. ..or try (^_^)

I don't know why it was decided to go Hardcover…though if the series does get done (That's if they get enough orders), it might very well go Soft Cover, I just don't know.

And I have learnt from experience, it is never good to type while in a fury.

He's destributing to the entire US and it's one dollar higher then Graham Crackers, by the philosphy GCC was also insane to charge $12.

You're comparing one insane shipping charge to another insane shipping charge. Both are excessive (and I still have a feeling that GC was charging $5) and cost prohibitive.

I think Graham Crackers was charging $12 for international shipping, and $5 for US/Canada shipping. It's their standard shipping rate, and I don't think they changed it for the hardback.

its not cheaper to distribute ooks by yourself, its just that you keep more of the profit. That might be more reason Seb didnt go through Diamond. Dunno.

For the ongoing I think they would have to do it softcover. Has there ever been an ongoing that was hardcover? I'm not sure.

I understand that I'm probably never going to see something this cool again, but as Divia just pointed out if I don't have the money as well than I just don't have the money. It might be something cool to have, but I think I'll get over not having it and the world won't come to an end because I don't. I'm also not sure how your financial situation is Peter Randall, but like I said I'm just finishing out college and in order to continue making my car payments and paying back student loans I'm probably gonna have to have a second job in addition to my job at the theatre (which I'd work on Saturday and Sundays in order to work my actual full-time job during the regular week) in order to pay both things.

I wasn't being annoyed at people for not having the money, I was more annoyed at Nate for comparing 88MPH to Marvel, because they don't compare.

Nowt personal Nate.

Oh, and my financial situation isn't great, but I don't have anywhere near as many payments to make as you seem to.

Except they produce the same products for the same marketplace. Of COURSE they compare.

In 2004 Marvel made a net profit of $124.9 million.
They have 630 employees.
Only this week 25 Marvel Comics were released.

88MPH do not make millions of dollars of profit.
It's practically one man, not 630 employees.
They have one project.

You can't compare them, Marvel is bigger, and therefore, can afford to charge less. You can compare Marvel to DC, not 88MPH.

I understand you weren't being annoyed at people for not having the money. I just felt I needed to explain in better detail why I wasn't going to be buying the Hard Cover Graphic Novel since you had said when are you ever going to see something this cool again. In fact even if my financial situation were any better I probably still wouldn't buy it, because, as big of a GB fan as I am, paying nearly $40 dollars ($25 for the Graphic Novel itself and than $13 for Shipping & Handling) for a Graphic Novel is just way too insane and too much to pay.

What is $40 in sterling? Just so I can get a better picture of how much that really is.

Okay, it's about £21…that doesn't seem so bad to me, my month bus pass costs me £15, and a book is so much better than riding the bus.
