If they are going for a female ghostbuster, then I suggest they just make Dana a Ghostbuster and give her a huge role in the film. Like the ending of aliens where she's on her own fighting the aliens…

If they proceed with the idea of havin g a new group of recruits, which I'm not in favour of but can't do much about, then any new female Ghostbuster would rightfully be part of that group, rather than Dana.

Awfull idea, Dana is not Ripley, two totally different characters.
Anyway Dan has said the new Ghostbusters will all be around the 20+ age group.

not to mention those props can get heavy the (i think their called hero packs? correct me if I'm wrong) weighed upwards of 30 pounds im not sure about the stunt packs though i just couldn't see her lugging those things around she's no spring chicken any more.

I'm with the majority on this one. While Ripley kicked @ss, Dana was never that way - she was more the damsel in distress. It doesn't work to have her as a GB. Plus, knowing hollywood - new recruits means the possibility of new movies down the line without having the original 4. Having Dana become one of those “new” 'busters would ruin that option for them.

Couldn't have said it better. Dana's character just seriously doesn't work as the ghostbuster to save the day kind of thing.

Even Though Sigourney's my #1 Favorite actress she's only good to call the Ghostbusters when Ghosts are Bugging her. With her Aliens movies that Different. Sigourney will be Awesome in Ghostbusters 3 just like the 2 GB Movies!!!
