A ghost of chance for another GB movie?

I've just read that Sony gave a go for a sequel of Evolution. It'll be titled Evolution Continues, it'l be straight to video/dvd. New cast, cameo of D.D. possible.

In the light of Inspector Gadget 2 and SST2 being made in the same straight to vid frame, I think it's possible that we'll see Ghostbusters movie soon.

But as far as I know Sony will need to do live version of Extreme GB, or GB with new characters because of the fact that, as we know, Bill is a 1/4 (or was it 1/5) of the copyright owners for the original team.

Wonder what's Your opinion. Please enlight me and show me the Way

i would be extrememly disappointed if GB3 went straight to home video. i haven't heard anything about this ‘evolution continues’.

If they made Ghostbusters 3, it would never be original to the first two films and could possibly ruin Ghostbusters.

probably they would use a slightly different title like “real gb”, “new gb”, “extreme gb” or something like that anyway…
but i don't know if it happen.
although evolution's box office was fatal and they are doing a video sequel anyway

A straight-to-video GB movie would be an awful idea. The script would not be shown the same care as a film released in theaters, and would probably be toned down (way too much) for kids.

PS. I don't have a lot o faith in straight to video sequels. I mean take a look at those From Dusk Till Down sequels, and Dragonheart sequel. They were ugly, weren't they? Although I must say that straight to vid Phantasm sequels are pretty cool.

Yeah, those three direct to video Casper Movies were HORRIBLE!!! They were completely non-continuity to the original Casper movie. Horrible. Well, that's what they get for mocking the Ghostbusters… :0 :O

Why/How does Bill Murray own part of the GB copyrights? He doesn't deserve them. He wants absolutely nothing to do with GB, he hates GB, and he owns part of the copyrights just so he can keep other GB things from happening.
