A note on the Hot Topic GB work shirts

I eagerly went and grabbed one of the GB work shirts that Hot Topic is selling ($36) and found an unhappy surprise–after one machine wash (it is, according to the label, machine washable), the red from the back logo transfer bled into the white, so I got sort of a white ghost with pink streaks and splotches. Soap and water didn't take it out, nor did bleach (!).

But oddly enough, a pencil eraser did.

If you find yourself with the same problem as I had, get a nice big pink pencil eraser and work on the streaks for about ten minutes. They come off rather easily that way. Shirt looks fine now.

Just a heads-up!

Did it say hot water or cold?

I believe you also have to wash it inside out, on a cold setting.

I did it in cold and still had my problems. :/

Hot Topic is a punk/goth store in the malls–sort of like rebellion lite, or the counterculture at your corner store. Right now they're into 80s retro so in addition to Weezer t-shirts and vinyl dresses, you can find Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirts, Transformers stuff, and a surpising selection of GB gear–stickers, t-shirts, buttons, and the work shirt. I don't know if they ship to the UK, but the website is www.hottopic.com, and I'd guess it's worth an email to them to find out! smile
