If you Had to replace any of the 4 Ghostbusters with another actor which character would you replace and with who?

Well, in the absence of any interesting answers yet, here's my thought.

The first few times I ever saw Jim Belushi performing, it surprised me how much he reminded me of Bill Murray, especially his looks. Now, if Murray is, as popularly thought to be, against any more GB films and as such an obstacle to any real progress of GB3, maybe Belushi could somehow fill in as a relative of Venkman or maybe even just a different character altogether. Without Murray's character to be the “mouthpiece” of the team, this would promote Dan Aykroyd's character to the position of “lead” or spokeman GB as it should be. Plus, it would be a nice bit of closure and tribute because Venkman was originally supposed to be played by John Belushi, Jim's brother.

Now I know there are bigger factors working against GB3 (Sony, et. al.,) but like I said, nobody's put up a better answer here yet!

I think, if they wanted a 4th comedy actor, Eddie Murphy could have full-filled the role of Winston, but Winston added his own brand of humor, the seriouse guy most people could relate to (ie: wanting his own lawyer). So to be honest, I don't think the GBs could be replaced… heck, the EGBs have the same personalities as the RGBs, just mixed around a bit.

On the GB DVD I think they talked about tryin to get Eddie Murphy to play Winston, but he couldn't. But I like Ernie Hudson.

That said, if I had to replace someone I think it'd be Egon, and I'd throw Steve Martin in his place. I love them all, but if I HAD to pick…

well see yes winston could be easily replaced but hes someone u need and i don t think he got the recognition he should of but no doubt who wouldnt love to see eddie murphy in that suit that would be funny but can u honestly see jim belushi busting ghosts
i mean let a lone bill murray nothing against those guys no offense all respect to them cuz bill murray is my fav actor hes 50 years old ya dont see a hell of a lot of 50 year olds running around w 50 pound proton packs on there back let alone if ther were to eer be a third one which i dont think there will be they would still have to be in it no doubt egon i mean cant replace ne of them really winston contributes a lot but itd would be kinda funny to see eddie murphy or maybe if it was the same 4 add one or maybe have them train the next 4 guys or so thats just what i gotta say

ok, its a no-brainer on this one, back then murray, ramis, hudson & akroyd were bigtime actors reciving offers from left, right & center for films of all sorts. but what we do know is that ramis and ayroyd pushed the button for the launch of GB2 as GB3 now, or trying to do at least. i dont know about hudson but hes a really talented actor, a perfect example would be his role as the princable in “the substitute” as a corrupted high school dean associated with the local gang in a drug smuggling operation of some sort. so i like hudson. yet… i love murray, to death. but somehow i belive that he no longer (ever has?) lusts for Ghostbusting. so i would replace him. i dont know with who. but theres a Ghostbuster out there just waiting to be found.
