A suggestion concerning the trap icons which display whether a thread is locked or not...

Chad,

When the new layout for the boards was first diplayed, I had an idea on how the trap icons next to each thread displaying whether a thread is locked or not could be possibly improved. From what I've gathered, a thread is shown to be locked whenever the trap icon appears somewhat “opened” or “empty.” And then a thread is meant to be open for discussion when the trap is “closed.”

What I was thinking though was that it might make more sense for the icons to be reversed. What I mean by that is to have a closed trap (the current “open thread” icon) for threads that are closed for discussion because they are closed. And then have the open trap (the current “closed thread” icon) as the icon to symbolize that threads are open for discussion because they appear open.

So I'd imagine it'd be something simple like just switching around the icons. Right now things seem a little reversed to me, so please just think it over and possibly switch them if the changes make sense to you. If not, no problem, I'll just get used to the current icons. wink

Just trying to give my $0.02 to make GB.net a better place,

Edit: Hmmm…just took a look at some of the boards to see how the trap icons are looking and now they're starting to make sense to me! Boy, this is starting to get confusing! LoL! Anyway, I suppose either would work really, so it's nothing to stress about.

The way things are is this:

Locked topic = Empty Trap
New Topic = Opened Trap
Topic With No New Posts = Closed Full Trap

I'm confused at your suggestion. Please make it more clear so I can understand which icons you would like changed.
