does anybody have the ghostbusters two story book? if so, and you have read it, there are some scenes in the book that were not in the movie. the deleted scenes made it into the book.

I have the GB2 coloring book (or at least had it) and was wondering what was up with the parts about Ray driving into a tree and Louis trying to bust Slimer…then I learned that they were deleted scenes. Too bad they didn't include them on the DVD.

ok i just read more,
there is a scene when the guys get out of the psycho ward, it says louis's friend who i sa skin doctor signs the papers to get them out.
then later outside the slime covered museum, the mayor and hardemeyer(his creepy assistant) come up and talk to them after they blast the shell, and then hardemeyer gets sucked into the slime with all but his shoes sticking out.
i thought that was neat. anybody else know anything about this?

It's always cool when fans run into these bits of trivia.
The Angry Ray driving scene was apparently something in an early version of the script that got sent out to a number of licencees, as it's appeared in a number of places, including the comic book adaption (very cool, if you can find it).
The scene with Louis (and his cousin, as I recall) was actually filmed. I know this for a fact, as I actually saw it in theaters. The scene survived long enough to go out on the print sent to theaters (at least for the opening weeks), but was cut (no idea why) in the home videos.

I have that book! i thought i was the only one that noticed all the differences. The movie would have been better if it ended like the book ended, with teh statue of liberty, holding the book and torch in the wrong hands. They had some funny jokes too, like “things were back to normal, or paranormal” for the ghostbusters.
what a great book, if only i could find it…
