Alright, a few facts about the comic. Straight from Sebastian himself.

I hate smoking, it's such a pointless habbit, it stinks and you're made to breathe it even if you're not a smoker. I kind of wish it was banned.

However I have no problem at all with the GBs smoking in the comic. There is no reason to remove it from their character. The GBs DO smoke and to remove that would basically be censorship.

Being too politically correct was EGB's failing and, well, the Ghostbusters arn't the politically correct types. I'm sure the Ghostbusters have an equal oppertunities policy and would hire women and disabled people - but doing so spoils the type of story you get from Ghostbusters. They're contovercial, they're corrupt, they're just in it for the money and they don't care what you think.

Okay, sorry about this…

Knock off the pissy, sissy, PC crap, and get off the “Smoke/Don't Smoke” high horse! Admittedly, the reason as to why nobody smoked in GBII (aside from the traps) is because it was geared more toward a younger audience, and they (the actors) were actually worried about their health (source GBI commentary).

If you want the GBs to smoke, let ‘em smoke. If you want your Jawa to kick ass, give him a lightsaber! Semantics, people! This is just like the whole “Nude Action Figure” debate in ToyFare a few years back. Just let it be, man! Can’t we just be happy that someone's finally getting the Boys in Grey back to their roots?

I personally can't wait for the series to come out, PC or not. And I'm glad about the decisions 88mph studios have chosen.

PS: Sorry about the preachy-ness.

Amen!!

Like I said, I don't care one way or another…I just thought that the fact that someone actually said that they weren't the Ghostbusters unless they smoked was patently ridiculous.

But really, I'm just posting to ask…is that a smooshed picture of a certain 5th dimensional Superman villian who's name I'm not even going to try to spell you've got down there?

Absoultely, that IS Mr. Mxyzptlk, specifically, the cartoon version voiced by Gilbert Goddfried. One of the funniest villians of the Bruce Timm animated series. The others are, Harley Quinn, The Joker (of course), and Bizarro.

(Read: opposite)
Me am hate them all not one bit!!

Most of the scenes in Ghostbusters wouldn't have been half as cool if the guys were standing around chewing gum or sipping Haiwain Punch. The scenes were cool because they were regular guys just standing around chilling and smoking and drinking. That was cool beyond cool.

I also agree with the guy who said that the scene with Ray seeing Slimer wouldn't have near as much impact if he didn't have the cigarette. You all cannot even deny that scene would be cool without the cigarette.

We should all be fine with the GBs smoking just not like offering the beers and ciggaretes to kids on the street.

I don't have a problem if they smoke, what I'm saying is that they don't have to. It really wont make tat big of a differnce.

Nothing beats lighting up a cigerette after busting some ghosts. I hate the taboo on smoking. I couldn't wait till I was 18 to start smoking. SO i started at 16 Thank god the 7-11 by my house doesn't card Anyways, I hate the taboo on smoking. Can't do it anywheres with out people getting up in arms. It's why I like Vegas.
And I'm really glad the guys are smoking again. Ray looks so cool when he's smoking. Especially in the ending credits. They just took down a God, and ray lights one up ^_^ So cool

YES! YES!

I was waiting for someone to bring up the ending credits. It too wouldn't be the same without Ray lighting up a cigarette and waving at the crowd. The guy just made it look cool.

Precisley! Ray was the man when he came out of the building and lit up a cigarette and waved to the crowd with the ecto-goggles. Okay I am not one for P.C. debate but if anyone in the comic is going to smoke it should be Ray. Ray is..just ray is the man okay? Damnit he's the man.

This is how I see it, damnit.

Ray-Smokes.
Egon-Huffing twinkies and eating candy.
Peter-Drinkin' beer.
Winston-A colaboration of all three.
Slimer/The Spud/Onionhead-He's yanno..Slimer.
