Alternate Universes

I put up this thread back on GBN. It got a good response, so here it is again. For those who don't remember, this thread was a place where people could put up ideas for incredibly crazy stories for the comic taking place in alternate universes. Examples:

1. Ghostbusters in Victorian England
2. Winston is hit with radiation during a bust and is turned into Winston
Smash!!
3. The Guys are just cogs in a huge multinational ghostbusting
corporation. (kinda like Dan's original script, but without the space
travel)

Have Fun!

I'd kinda like to see Ghostbusters in the Middle Ages. Sort of like Army of Darkness with the boys in gray.

I would like to see the Men in Gray busting God of differents myth, such as Greek, Egyptian, and Scotch.
It would be great!!!!
I love MYTHOLOGIES!!!

I'd like to see them in an updated version of the Netherworld again…maybe without the stupid People Busters.

I said this on the old board, I'll say it again here:

Howabout a universe where the Ghostbusters wear different colored flight suits, have Slimer as a pet, and Egon has wierd blond hair?

After all, Dreamwave has Transformers comics based on both the classic 80's Generation One and the current Armada continuities…

Vee, I just have one question for you. Where's your sense of humour?

Rosh's ideas are effing hilarious!

Here's my alternate universe: 24th Century Ghostbusters!!!

Ghostbuster213: The word is Scots, not Scotch. Okay?

I really think the only thing that would work is taking parts of Dan's original ideas and expanding on that.

I like Roshangar’s third idea and Fritz’ idea. Here’s how I visualize them in the new comic, if their ever used:

An Alternate Universe similar to Dan Aykroyd’s original script (Without the time/interdimensional travel, but with a few elements from the original script. *Chuckle*): Not too far in the future, Ghostbusters Inc. is a large company consisting of international franchises. The CEO is an evil, corrupt, sinister villain named Ivo Shandor. Now, here’s where it gets weird, either Walter Peck or Dr. Egon Spengler will be “this” Shandor. It could be Walter Peck because he was the original sinister anti-GB villain. And who’s to say he wouldn’t fit this role well? The reason Egon would make a perfect and even better Ivo Shandor is because the Egon we all know wasn’t in the original script (And absolutely no one in the Spengler Family fits the criteria of the “Paranormal Janitors” of this company. So please, don’t make him one.). He would basically have the same personality as the Egon we know, only as said above, he’s that kind of a bad guy, sort of like Cyrus Spengler. Whichever one of them becomes Ivo Shandor will have a hideous secret plot against all “living” beings: He plans on using every single contained Paranormal Entity to enslave all mankind. The Employees of GB Inc. are essentially $10,000-a-year “Paranormal Janitors” who work for Shandor and they really have no technical expertise whatsoever. They all wear matching blue futuristic jumpsuits with Proton Packs strapped to their backs. They also wear brushed-metal, flip-down Ecto-Visors worn on the head like a welder's mask. Elbow pads complete their strange outfits. Their headquarters is a firehouse and their transportation is a black ‘76 Hearse with purple strobe lights with the No-Ghost logo on the front doors and the back door. The main characters in this are Stantz, Venkman, and Ramsey (The character that was changed to Winston. Either Winston could be him, or a John Belushi-type character could be him.). And they’re the only ones who can stop Shandor…

2.) An Alternate Universe with three differences than the normal universe:
A.) The Ghostbusters of this Universe look different (Maybe Mark Brooks/El Diablo could drop in and help out with this. :-) ): Dr. Peter Venkman has a part in his hair, instead of a receding hairline, he’s 6’1”, and he wears a dark brown jumpsuit W/ green-blue trims. Dr. Egon Spengler has a big twirly blonde funnel-shaped hairdo, he’s 6’5” (The tallest of the four of them.), wears thin circular-shaped red glasses, and he wears a dark blue jumpsuit W/ pinkish trims. Dr. Raymond Stantz has auburn (Reddish-colored.) hair, he’s chubby, he’s 5’11” (The shortest of the four of them.), and he wears a tan jumpsuit W/ brown trims. Winston Zeddemore has shorter sideburns and he wears an aqua jumpsuit W/ reddish trims. All of their uniforms have a nametag in the style/font that was used in GB II. All of their equipment looks exactly the same as it is the normal Universe, except for the Ecto Containment Unit. That and their basement are both gigantic.
B.) They have more Vehicles: ECTO-2, a two-person gyrocopter W/ a Proton Canon. And ECTO-4, a small gyrowing Aircraft designed and built by Dr. Egon Spengler. It can hold it's pilot and at least four passengers. It's equipped with a Proton Canon, but it's real jewel is the built-in Transdimensional Drive, an evolution of Egon's earlier Dimensional Gate technologies. The drive is hideously expensive to build and operate, however. Egon is the main pilot.
C.) They have a pet – The very first Ghost that they ever busted, the Class V Full-Roaming Vapor from the Sedgewick Hotel, and his name is “Slimer”. :-) :p

Seriously, both of these would make a great Alternate Universe issues. It would be interesting to see how Ghostbusters Inc. was originally going to be. And we may never see the RGB’s anymore, so we could at least see them this one last time, as sort of a salute to them. And who knows, maybe they’ll get a proper farewell this time around…

I dunno. This is the the kinda thing that leads up to CRISIS: On infinite Earths people. (^_^)

Although it would be fine if it was a graphic novel with a big Elseworlds symbol on it

Anyway, these are great ideas I really like the ghost janitors idea. Just make it a one shot or Graphic Novel, or even a mini-series.
