an idea for GB3...

It is very unlikely that Ghostbusters III will be made. But what if it was? Here are just a few ideas I came up with, just to make GB3 more of a possibility:

1) I have the address of Dan Aykroyd and is planning on writing to him the script I am working on one of these days.
2) Instead of re-release the original in 2004, why not make GB3 and release for that year.
3) The plot of GB3 would go like this: It is now fifteen years since the Vigo incident, and once again, the Ghostbusters are defunct. Ray has taken to lecturing college kids about paranormal studies. But then, strange occurences happen again that call for the Ghostbusters to be back in action. But instead of Egon, Peter, and Winston, Ray has called a new squad of GBs comprising of four of the college kids he has lectured. The movie will probably center on either Gozer coming back to wreck havoc, or a new monster.
4) The four new GB's I thought would probably be: Jason Biggs, Renee Zwelleger, Marlon Wayans, and Freddie Prinze, Jr.
5) Perhaps we could have Ray die in GB3, just as he is about to save the new squad.
6) I thought the new Ecto-1 would be the original updated, with more gadgets, and it will have features like the Bond cars.

How's this for a sequel, eh?

I've said this on other threads and I'll say it again…. You need comedians! Ghostbusters is a Comedy first and an action/adventure second! Freddie Prinze jr????????? NO THANK YOU! And with Ecto just use the original or the 1-A but have more shots in it. Oh and Bond features? I don't think the Ghostbusters would need heat-seeking missiles, smokescreens, oil slicks, or ejector seats. They way I see GB3: If it doesn't have the original cast with the main roles, don't bother.

The plot is too much like the first two: they start off with different jobs; weird stuff starts happening; they go into business. Try keeping them in business this time.

GB cannot be made into a teen flick. You have to have actors, new GB's who are roughly the same age as the original GB's were in the first film, and the EGB approach sucks, there has to be another way. I thought of having a couple of guys studying the same way they were in the original, but close friends of the ghostbusters after they split decide to join too, making a new foursome. And if the only way we're gonna be seeing venkman is as a ghost, have him possessed by the new bad guy, and don't rehash Gozer or Vigo, big no nos. Gozer was beaten, so he can suffer in his jocks. My idea was for a ghost trapped in between GB 1 and 2 to escape the containment unit in its days of disrepair, but while inside the unit, he has been leeching from other demons becomming stronger and more powerful. He returns and starts merging New York with his home dimension. This pretty much keeps with the hell on earth theme, Murrays want to return as a ghost, and fans wanting comedians and not crappy teen actors. I have my script nearly done, so i'll post it when its finished.

that is a good thought but like a lot of people said freddy would make a terrible ghostbuster. Now marlin wanynes is the most ideal person for it

I suppose I forgot about the whole “not make GB3 a teen movie thing”. Instead of Freddie Prinze, Jr. and the new Ecto-1, I have come up with another idea:

GB3 will follow the Ghostbusters some ten years or fifteen years later. Their business this time has only been on the rocks because the guys have retired: Ray is now working as a children's show host (I went for that vampire kiddie show thing that was featured on SCTV), Egon as a lecturer and possible Noble Prize winning scientist, WInston has a nice business by giving tours of the old FIrehouse HQ, and Peter is reasonably happy with Dana Barrett and secure in his career as a TV weatherman (hint to Groundhog Day). The guys are only reunited when Egon and Ray discover another interdimensional cross-rift that is bringing in more spooks, that cause WInston and Peter to come back in the fold. But because of their ages, the guys instead train a new crew of GBs, who manage to kick some ghostly ass. That is, until one evil being so evil and powerful, that it will take more than this new sqaud of Ghostbusters to bust him. Henceforth, a reunion with old and new GB's, and a graceful way to bid goodbye to a great franchise.

Is this any better?

I dont mean to sound harsh or anything but do you really think Dan Aykroyd is going to care at all about the script you send him? He's already written one of his own.

You don't mean to sound harsh?! Well what was that? That wasn't exactly putting it in nicest terms. Sure Aykroyd has written his own script but that doesn't mean he wouldn't care at all. He'll probably like to read it out of enjoyment. No one said he actually had to make a movie out of it.

Yea Dave. GB3 can't have Ray die. It will kill the whole series and turn off alot of fans. Tempus's idea is good and your second one is too. Any way you two can pararllel the two ideas and make GB3 a brilliant script that Dan Aykroyd or Harold Ramis can do without Venkman?
