An old Discussion back from the dead !

I was just looking up the Bill Murray, article at PC

and I agree with him, Don't get me wrong, It would be cool to see a GB movie on my generation. but to see 4 old men sprinting with proton packs around NYC would not be as cool as we all have been thinking. The Changes that will bring a new production would probably kill are nice memorys of the franchise, for example; the Ecto-1, you guys seriously think a 1950's car would be around in a futuristic and realistic New hollywood ?

I personally, wouldn't like that the NEW hollywood would go messing with the things I love about all things GB (even if the movies gets a Extreme GBs feel). Maybe thats why Bill is doing saying that he would return as Ghost, kind of sabotaging it, because he knows nobody would like that the main character of the franchise dies at the first half hour.

SO Saying this, Can I get some thoughts?

That's the suspension of disbelief, that a half century+ car still manages to get the job done when they could've easily “traided up” for something newer.

The same pretty much goes for the established Ghostbusters.

Thoughts? It's Bill saying something weird, which isn't without precedent. Whether he's saying he should be a ghost, or that the film isn't going to happen, it's just material he's giving to the rumor mill. A lot of what he said hasn't had that much bearing on what production there is, I don't feel.

Don't assume what he's saying is going to end up being the case should this movie get made.

Additional note: Moving this to the GB3 subforum.

about the ecto 1 i remember reading that sony restored it when the game was coming out.. now i realize what you mean by bill and the guys being too old but i for one would love to see the old gbs training the new gbs the new gbs getting in trouble and the the old guys coming in to save the day to pass on the torch imho the guys are still funny as the game proved and i guess i just finally wanna see this movie made

I love this mentaility of “They'll screw it up.”

They'll only “screw it up” if you're immature. If someone doesn't like things about the new movie, don't see it. Simple as that. If you hate the idea of new recruits, and they're in the new movie, avoid the movie so you don't have a reason to bitch.

Inmature ???

I'M just trying to have some opinions, I think its more inmuture from you to say im bitching, when most of the people are bitching about getting this movie made, and maybe including you?

IM not saying it will be crap, but have you guys seen all the batman movies that had a change of batmobile or actors and how many of those batman movies went well? For me maybe the first two.

Maybe Bill is just taking us in the wrong direction, maybe He's just saying all that stuff to make us think the movie is never moving forward and the movie itself could be in pre-production. Maybe some thing hes says could be wrong, Look at the New Tron movie, Who knows.

Theo136, we all know the car got restored, we all have seen the news about the GB's and the game, even if you dont play video games or watched the movie on blue ray, the documentary is on you tube

I wasn't talking about you at all. Just fanbases in general, of every franchise.

Chill out.

Well at least the rumor Venkman dies at the start ain't really valid. Bill says it was a half joke thing from him in that PC article.
