Of course I'm talkng about the Library Ghost. The ghost that gave every kid of the eighties nightmares MUST return.

She's the first ghost the Ghostbusters saw and their first case. Problem is, since she scared the guys out of the library we haven't seen anything of her since - not even returning in RGB or EGB.

It'd be cool to find out a story about her. Perhaps on who she was and why she haunts the library. Or, even better, the guys actually catching her within the GB1 storyline. Failing that, she has to return at some point for a second encounter.

It kind of ruins that great joke though: “We'll get back to you!”

that should have been in the montage… picture it,,, just the guys walking down the front steps of the library smiling with a smoking trap.

*Ray peeks around the corner*

Ray: “Ready… get her!”

*The ghost transforms again. The Ghostbusters don't move. The ghost's face turns from anger, to fear, as it starts sprialing downward, into the Ghost Trap.*

*The library guy from the movie looks at all the damage caused by the Proton Streams….*

Library guy: “Look at what you've done!”

Peter: “Hey…. we got back to you!”

Library guy: “What's that got to do with anything?”

Egon: “Back off, man. We're scientists.”

I think the library ghost would be tricky to catch, which would make a cool story.

As we know from the intro to the movie, she often remains unseen and scares her “victim” using harmless tricks. This scares them into running through the maze of books to just where she wants them.

Even if the Ghostbusters are fully equiped I think it would be tough for them to catch her - mostly because of the environment she haunts. The goggles would work to see her but would be practically useless in such confined areas (she could just be behind a shelf and push it over without the GB even knowing). She also looks damn mean and is not the ghost you'd want to meet. It'd just make such a great bust.

I often wonder/wondered if the Ghostbusters went back to the Library in their equipment and trapped her. They probably did, and it should've been in the montage. I'd love to see it in the comic for laughs.
