Anyhow. We still have yet to get ANY OFFICAL word on when our game will come out! Is it just me, or dont we atleast deserve some kind of info about the game before its planed launch date?

I severly doubt they havent managed to get a publisher by this point. The game was delayed what, Late July if i remember correctly? In two months they couldent find anyone who wants to buy it, or they couldent even put out an offical statement about a delay? We had to get all our info from 3th party sources.

and even most of that 3rd party info is doubtable until an official release, but yeah hopefully we will hear something soon.

correct me if im wrong, but i dont even recall a first party source even stating its delayed. Yes, we're missing a publisher, but is it infact offically delayed? I guess in a few weeks we'll know for sure when my copy dont arive at gamestop.

I just think, look, by or on Halloween, we should know somthing offical. If 2009 is going to be the year of the ghostbusters, maby there going to officaly anounce and start filming the third film…im all cool with that. We know they got a few guys from the office writing the script.

Im just saying, we've waited over 19 years, were less then 20 days from what should have been the launch, and we dont get any offical word on even if the game is infact delayed, or when the game is coming out. Not a good way to treat us fans.

Heres what im hoping happens. On the 21st or maby halloween itself…they anounce, hey guys look, the games delayed, but..we're going to make it up to you. Heres a playable demo, (cause we all know one is allready made because it made a showing at comic con) and the game is going to launch come March or around then next year.

(i just simply dont see the need to push this game to june, all because the first film opened in june 25 years ago)

If they made a major anouncement like that on halloween, Id be completly happy and wouldent mind wating a few more months for the game, esp if i got the demo. Its just, i think as fans, we kinda deserve somthing offical before the launch date, ya know

I believe an official memo was released stating that because Activision wasn't publishing it, there would definately be some form of delay.

I'd imagine 2010 might actually be the earliest filming could begin seeing as a script's only been commissioned in the last few months.


I'd also suggest putting all those claims in quote marks as I imagine I won't be the only person at some stage to think you're actually claiming that there will be new figures, that the Blurays will have all the deleted scenes, and such.

Well Kingpin, you're right - probably 2010 is more realistic, but I would like to point out that Iron Man 2 is in pre production and they don't even know WHO THE VILLIAN WILL BE. So sure, there's a chance that it'll all come together and shoot by summer/fall, but that's highly unlikely. I'd say a 2010 release date is more feasible.

As for the release of the game… I'm over it. I'm not expecting to hear anything ever. There is plenty of stuff to get excited about in the meantime. Fallout 3 looks KICK @$#% and Dead Space will probably require me to change my britches.

I'll play Ghostbusters when I can play it, but I'm not gonna harp on it anymore.

Well 2010 is a far more realistic release date for a 3th film. I was talking about how next summer they could start FILMING for the following summers launch.

With murry now on board (with script pending) from what i gather from his recent interview, I honestly dont see why sony WOULDENT do ghostbusters 3 now! Murry has always been the make or break deal breaker with ghostbusters. I know hes not in the game as much as the other guys, but, HE IS in the game!

Right now, here is where i stand. 2009 should be the year of ghostbusters. Give us the game, TO HOLD US OVER for the new movie! New Blu Rays, (i myself would love to see the deleted scenes for ghostbusters 2) and new merchindise. We strongly suspect Master Relplica's is making Traps and the like, and those are multi hundred, if not thousand dollar collectables. I just dont think it fair not to have a collectable for the mid range buyer and fan like figures and the like.

But, i think theres a huge oppertunity this halloween, for sony to come out, give us an offical statement, and get things moving!

I have yet to go one halloween since 1984 were i have NOT heard the ghostbusters theme played on the radio or seen some ghostbusters refrence somewhere on tv.

Well, whilst not knowing the villain will complicate things, they have the whole comic history to draw from, and if it isn't to do with Mandarin and the ten rings, it'll probably be Titanium Man. But they have it a lot easier as they have both the momentum of the first hit and the fourty years of aforementioned comic history, we have a 20+ year absense and effectively starting from scratch… so whilst I won't rule a 2009 shooting out completely, the Ghostbusters 3 production, if it gets going has a lot more ground to cover.

Well, no, see….pre-production is easy to get into.


I mean, technically, GB3 is in development stage, which can become dehellment stage, as they refer to it. Iron Man 2 isn't really in development stage, but its not exactly in prepro, either.

And as for commenting on something on topic.

Its going to be delayed. If you expect the game to come out this month, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

No one was saying that, they were saying that they want some word on when it actually will come out.
