and dont give me this crap about sales, or 25th year or what ever. Its ghostbusters. people will buy it based on the name alone!

Dude, make up your mind. First you bash Sony, saying that summer game sales are always awful and that GB:TVG will sell worse if they release in summer, then you say people will buy it based on the Ghostbusters name alone.

Things take time, maybe a new publisher has been decided upon, maybe it hasn't… in any case, the game will be here, which is much better than it being canceled, so things could be much worse. Its just a delay.

And the argument about it being done so you should be able to play it is kinda silly. That's like saying a movie has been edited and is in the can, so you should be able to watch it. Yes, I understand its slightly different because its been delayed. But without a publisher announced, they kinda can't release the game, even if it is done.

Well to be honest, this whole thing to me, is like, kinda re living my childhood a bit ya know. Ever since i first saw ghostbusters, ive been dying to strap on a proton pack and kick ghost ass.

And for years, you couldent do that, just dream about it. This game, is probley as close to reality as im ever going to get, and ive been wating 25 years to do this, and now its like, im this close to doing that….and it gets delayed for no logical reason what so ever.

Its like, what the hell, ya know. I honestly feel, right now, im on the crest of this big, ghostbusters wave, maby even a ghostbusters rebirth if you will… for the first time since i was a child, we're getting NEW ghostbusters material, a game, and this time, it looks like we might even get a 3th movie. As the keymaster said in GB1 “THIS IS IT! THIS IS THE SIGN!”

And it is. Everyone seems to want to do a 3th movie, all they gota do is get the script done, the game is for all intensivie purposes, DONE, just need a publisher, which i dont buy for a moment is a hard thing to do. I mean, common, ITS GHOSTBUSTERS, you mean to tell me publishers arent jumping over each other to get this? If anything, i see publishers fighting each other for this title, not them searching under every rock for one!

But, we're THIS close to a Rebirth of our belovied franchise, one we fans more then deserve, and its like, we've waited enough, cant we atleast have an update as to what is going on?

Look, ghostbusters to me, is extremley important, as pathetic as that sounds, but it got me instered in films, etc. Im in film class right now, due in part to ghostbusters, and now that im this close to getting a slew of new media after years of nothing what so ever…forgive me if im a little anoyed i have to wait a bit longer and be kept in the dark! i mean, common now, ive sat by, quite, for 19 long years…

I know, its just a game, etc. But i mean, common, i get to be a kid again with this game.

Delays suck, there is no way around it. It's part of this process though. We'll hear things when they want us to hear things. Not to beat a dead horse, but remember 88 MPH Comics. They promoted a product they couldn't deliver, updated us saying “it's coming” and never delievered. I'm not saying that would happen with the game, I'm just saying I'm all for them ready to have everything just right when they announce it. At the same time though you seem to be forgetting how ridiculously lucky we are to be getting a game at all. I mean how many movies get a video game 25 years after they come out? We're not owed anything by Sony or anyone else and the sole reason they are going to make the game and a 3rd movie (if it happens) is to make money. So let them do it the way they think is best so hopefully it does well and we do get more stuff.

That kinda feels like what Activision did, they pulled an 88 MPH on us. Oh, the games almost ready, but we're not publishing it, and people wonder why I'm not buying anything Activision supported anymore.

Well, i never even heard about the 88 MPH comic issue till not to long ago, but that my friends, was outright wrong.

And i think activision is wrong too and did the same exact thing. Honestly, i dont even get why its delayed. For the life of me, i cant figure it out why they wouldent want to publish it at all?

what pisses me off even more is that ITS STILL LISTED ON THERE WEBSITE as launching october 31st! I mean, common!

Again, it's lame that they did that and doesn't really make sense to me either, but then I'm not a video game publisher. If they don't want to publish it for whatever reason that is their business. I would rather it go to someone who appreciates the property and is willing to put the time and effort marketing it and believes in it. Activision could have kept it, releasing it quietly with little to no marketing and the the game would have not sold as well as it could have. I mean it would sell, but marketing will make a huge difference of how much it sells. And if it doesn't sell what Sony wants it to, then we don't get GBTVG 2 and we probably can say bye to any hope of GB3.

How'd you come to the conclusion Ghostbusters would be a rush-release? They've been working on it since 2006 and reports were that everything was on schedule until Activision came along.

I hadn't. I was only saying that, in my humble opinion, the delay could be used for “getting everything together”. But then, I haven't been following the development of the game as well as I should be, so that's why I sound a bit…confused. And, when I said “rush-release,” I meant “we have to get it out on THIS date no matter what phase it's in”, and, upon arrival, reviewers would then find a whole bunch of things to nitpick about. This way, everything will be perfect, as there's a few extra months to get the next few stages of demo testing done.

Each copy of the demo sent out for early reviews was apparently given a revier-specific watermark, so that the company could keep track of who leaked their disc if bootleg copies began appearing on the internet… it's for that very reason, the fear of being sued, or at least loosing future business with the publisher that has kept people from making duplicates and putting them online.

Guess that makes sense why we haven't seen one then. Thanks for the info.

Regarding no official word - I see where people are getting the 88MPH correlation. I know that this is way different from that too, but even I can't help but think of how we were burned that way. “It's coming. It's basically done. We've got Dan on-board.” Then suddenly nothing - no word at all on what happened. And before I get jumped on - I realize the big difference here (88MPH being a one-man, poorly run show vs. Terminal Reality being a good company and Sony seeming to actually put their own weight behind this as opposed to just letting it die), I'm just saying I understand the frustration, and even join in it.

what gets me, is we as fans, have the worse luck when it comes to all things ghostbusters. I just dont get it. its a hugely popular movie, i have yet to hear in all my 25 years of life, anyone who hated the movie, its got an icon known around the world, its the defining roles of everyone involved, and yet, we as fans dont get jack and when we do, it always seems like some outside, evil force will stop at nothing, to prevent us from getting our hands on anything new!

Maby its just bad luck. Maby its just, its not a huge a fan base as lord of the rings, star wars, etc.

But, before lord of the rings movies, i never once even heard of the book! Star wars, i dident see the first one intill i was 13, (and was born in 1983) yet, both of those flood the market with new stuff.

guess it all has to do with the magic trilogy number or somthing, who knows. Maby ghostbusters, unlike other franchises, for what ever reason remained stuck in the 80's?
i never got why? the very notion of ghostbusting today is just as funny as it was back then. Hell, the times have changed to add a whole new aspect to that idea, and yet, it never gets explored. Just think of the technology side of ghostbusting alone, with the technology we got today.

Hell, Your average cell phone is probley 100% more powerful then egons pke scanner! The proton pack, as classic as it is, by todays standars is huge and bulky! Just to think what the ghostbusters would use today is mind blowing.

Plus, they would have oh so much more support intodays world then back in the 80's. Id picture it as a huge networking team of many ghostbusters, across the country, maby even the world, working together.

But alas, these things go unexplored or when we're given a hint of whats could be possable, or whats allready made and ready, its ripped from us. its fustrating to the point were, to me, the world today seems like it be so supportive of anything new with ghostbusters, and yet, it never seems to happen!

And don't worry, we're getting plenty of good stuff. The video game isn't the only thing. New comic series, the manga, the Kubrick set, the video game, and potentially the 3rd movie. Try being positive, its a lot easier on your heart.
