Anyone else upset?

Whoa, mad much?

I myself am a gamer, and very excited about this. But my only problem is, I don't PS3 or x-box, so my only choice for the “adult version” of the Ghostbusters game is PC. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'm afraid of 2 things;

1. My PC won't have the proper video card or graphics card to run it, although I don't think that it's a problem since I could run the Godfather Game easily.

2. My computer crashes and I lose all my game progress. Worst nightmare ever :p

Wait, so they are releasing the “movie” then? And only on Blu-Ray??? I'm confused. (*peter)

Nope, Ghoulishfright. Ghostbusters is getting released onto Blu Ray next year.

There's still no word on ‘Ghostbusters 3’ ever happening.

Well they could easily insert gameplay footage with some professional gamer playing out the action scenes, if indeed thats the case, which I imagine it might be. It may not all flow like a movie, but surely they could edit together something that gives you the entire story, without the unnecessary long stretches of game playing. I know there must be other ghostheads out there like me (poor, non-gamers), or even just casual fans that want to 'see' the next Ghostbusters, and nothing else, inexpensively. I think doing a DVD like that makes perfect sense, and they could probably load it up with tons of interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff too; I'm sure we're all dying to see stuff like that. As long as they do something so I can still see this thing I'll be happy….

C'mon Ghoulishfright, we both know that'll never happen. They'd be setting themselves up for a massive loss. Who would bother buying the game when they can just buy a DVD that's half the price and watch the story without the effort?

It wouldn't work as there's the strong chance there may be a difference in the game graphics vs. the cutscene graphics, even if there isn't, and I hope the cutscene and game graphics are identical, like Halo 3, it wouldn't work that well as film… for half of it, maybe even more you'd have a complete lack of professional camera work, following the Ghostbusters and seeing the non cutscene events over the shoulder of the player character who'd block a lot of the view.

You want to know the story, then play the game… it really isn't that unreasonable for them to want you to play through the game. Nobody's holding a gun to anyone's head forcing them to play it straight away and buy a system immediately.

Failing that, just wait for game footage to appear on Youtube… that way you can get it for free*. :@

And I'm not gonna buy a PS3, or X-box, or whatever consoles this game will be available for, simply to play one bloody game.

Then consider it an investment, who knows what other games of interest may come out in the future. Failing that, surely one of your friends has one of the consoles, I'm sure he/she would let you use it until you could get your own.

I didn't even own a DVD player when I bought Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II on DVD. I just knew I would end up getting a DVD player sooner or later.

Kalonthar, definately, beside finally having the chance to make figures of the Ghostbusters, there's a heck of a lot of potential for marketing in relation to this.

* I in no way support this idea.

You have a computer? Should be no problem then, since the game is going to be on PC too. Unless you have a crappy graphics card, then you start worrying.

Whoa, mad much?

Nope, not at all. Just sick of people complaining about nothing new and exciting for Ghostbusters, then they find ways to complain about something as amazing as this. If you're not a gamer, then deal with it. Either become one and experience the awesomeness that is going to be this game, or miss out on it. Its your choice.

Please note, I'm not saying “you're not a gamer” and “your choice” to direct it at you Peter Venkman, its directed at the general “you”, the people who feel the need to bitch and moan just for the sake of bitching and moaning.

I have a computer and my brother owns a 360. I'm hoping to be able to play it on my PC but should the need require it, I'll have the 360 version to fall back on.

That's good. I actually have a friend that has a PS3, and is also a big Ghostbusters fan. So that might be plan B lol. My PC should be able to handle it, but again my only concern is my PC crashing on me and losing all my progress lol.

I know where you're coming from about that. There's a few guys at IMDB saying, “I don't want a lame game, I want a third movie.” Which is really stupid. This is the biggest thing to happen in years, and they're complaining about it? But wait, I forgot most people at IMDB are idiots.

Comes with the territory, but it's something we've dealt with for decades. :p It's awful when it happens, but it just means you have the excuse to tackle those missions again and do them even better!

And that comes with IMDb, it seems only the TalkBack people at AICN can delve any lower when it comes to idiotic posts. (*winston).

Indeed, they're looking a gift horse in the mouth… a third film is as good as dead (no pun intended), they could at least be a little happy they're gonna have the chance to be a Ghostbuster, and that Dan's doing anything new at all.

I was actually doing some research on the internet, to see if theres a way to backup the save game files for PC. I hope I can, I too lazy to play levels over again!!!! *goes crazy*

Ok, I'm done.

Sigh.

Being a Mac user, its clear you're not a gamer.

As far as wanting to “see” the movie/game without playing it. I advise you to invest in a friend who plays games. I do this with games that are too complicated, long or not on a system I own. Then I just watch him play.

That kind of investment could be pricey, and illegal!
