Wait, so they are releasing the “movie” then? And only on Blu-Ray??? I'm confused. (*peter)
Well they could easily insert gameplay footage with some professional gamer playing out the action scenes, if indeed thats the case, which I imagine it might be. It may not all flow like a movie, but surely they could edit together something that gives you the entire story, without the unnecessary long stretches of game playing. I know there must be other ghostheads out there like me (poor, non-gamers), or even just casual fans that want to 'see' the next Ghostbusters, and nothing else, inexpensively. I think doing a DVD like that makes perfect sense, and they could probably load it up with tons of interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff too; I'm sure we're all dying to see stuff like that. As long as they do something so I can still see this thing I'll be happy….
And I'm not gonna buy a PS3, or X-box, or whatever consoles this game will be available for, simply to play one bloody game.

Then consider it an investment, who knows what other games of interest may come out in the future. Failing that, surely one of your friends has one of the consoles, I'm sure he/she would let you use it until you could get your own.

You have a computer? Should be no problem then, since the game is going to be on PC too. Unless you have a crappy graphics card, then you start worrying.

I have a computer and my brother owns a 360. I'm hoping to be able to play it on my PC but should the need require it, I'll have the 360 version to fall back on.

Nope, not at all. Just sick of people complaining about nothing new and exciting for Ghostbusters, then they find ways to complain about something as amazing as this.

My PC should be able to handle it, but again my only concern is my PC crashing on me and losing all my progress lol.
I know where you're coming from about that. There's a few guys at IMDB saying, “I don't want a lame game, I want a third movie.” Which is really stupid.
This is the biggest thing to happen in years, and they're complaining about it? But wait, I forgot most people at IMDB are idiots.

Comes with the territory, but it's something we've dealt with for decades. :p It's awful when it happens, but it just means you have the excuse to tackle those missions again and do them even better!

Sigh.
As far as wanting to “see” the movie/game without playing it. I advise you to invest in a friend who plays games..
