Well with the flow of new content for example new shirts, the game, maybe they will figure out a new movie would make tons of money and decide to make gb3 i mean we still have a year til the game comes out and personally iam just glad we get the game

Not really; it would only take away the “playing” part of the game, but this isn't gonna be Tetris where “playing” is all there is. There's an entire story ‘surrounding’ the gameplay. Ultimately the story is told, not played. And I'm not talking about cutting JUST the “cut-scenes” together, I'm talking about putting the whole “story” together, however that may be achieved….

My friend, this comment here is also grossly innacurate. And may have flown in the late 90's and early 00's, but gaming has come on so far since then. Games like half-life have killed the cut-scene. And I imagine GB to be alot like that. Everything is supposed to be seen through your own eyes as you are the new recruit. So things will probably unfurl mid-gameplay. So yeah, the story will unfold while you play, the story will not simply be told, it will be experienced. The explanation of the library and Hotel levels show this clear as day. Everything happens while you play.

I don't know why i'm getting so uppity about this, I guess it's because i'm a secret hardcore gamer :p

as I read this I hear and see the maturity level of this post go way down.
it is irrelevant whether he does or does not want to play the game or if he has a system or not. He wants to enjoy the franchise he loves one more time and this game seems to be the only way to do it. While his post about gamers being minority is inaccurate,( for the past 3 -4 years now video games have outsold movie sales and box offices. look to the halo series for the proof.)
that doesn't mean that we have the right to belittle him for not being a gamer. And what he is suggesting is not out of the realm of possibilities.

I have a modded xbox that can strip any single file and play it individually
as media (IE video clip cut scenes , audio from games and so on.) so I know
it's possible. and if the game is our last chance at a movie , Im sure someone will take the time to do it.

I don't know about you, but if i somehow couldn't get a copy, I would pay to have a video of someone else playing the game + cutscenes

Ghostbusters is that important to me

There is no hating here, what there is, is discussion. There are two differing opinions here.

Numero Uno - It is a travesty that the new GB story is game exclusive.

Numero Dos - Suck it up, it's designed to be a game, find a way to enjoy the game.


Either way, these two opinions must do battle and unti someone resorts to name calling or innapropriate conduct, I see no reason that this shouldn't continue the way it is.

Anyway, whilst I do imagine some fans will cut together a fan film of ingame footage… I'd just be greatly surprised if the studio would release something official close to the release of the game… That's why I find it so unlikely to happen. (*peter)

I'm not a gamer, either, but if the new Ghostbusters is a well-done game, then it will work as a game, in the game medium. To attempt to convert it into a movie would compromise its artistic integrity.

If the game is adapted into a comic book or, better yet, a novelization, that will be wonderful. Otherwise, I'll just find out what the game's about by reading reviews and synopses on the Internet. A poorly put-together “movie” would just harm the reputations of the Ghostbusters franchise and the voice talents, who are some of the favorite actors and writers of everyone on this board.
