anyone gonna buy the SDCC Stay-Puft?

i've gone back and forth on this….do i really need it? is it worth spending $70 (before shipping) on? couldn't i put the money towards something else….

but,in the end….i've decided: i WANT the f#%ker!!!

of course,this is all paramount on matty.com having enough for people on August 1st, which i plan to make sure i'm in front of my computer by 11:30 that morning,just so i can try and get him (and a GL Kilowog,too)….

so,is anyone else gonna try to get the big white bastard?

I'm getting him. The only Matty items I haven't gotten is the 12" line. I think all the fan made ones before and after the Matty ones spoiled me on how they could and should have looked.

Not I. While in the back of my mind I still kinda want it, I just don't think its worth the steep price tag. More than half of the price is probably going toward the box, which I really don't care or have any need for. Plus the face still kinda looks “off” to me.

I'm just anticipating the prop and future figure announcements. That's my GB SDCC excitement right there….

I dunno… considering the size of the box… it will cost a kidney the shipping to Mexico (if they ship it international… seeing the costs, I don´t believe they will).

I´m pretty happy with my NECA´s Stay Puft figure… but this one from Matty looks spooktacular… time (and Matty) will tell.

I hope to get one provided shipping outside of the States won't be insane. I've kicked myself for passing on the NECA Stay Puft I saw in a comic shop during a trip to Toronto years ago.

The announcement is only hours away now. Feels like Christmas morning….


Anyone know what sort of foam the stay puft is made out of? Is this something that will break down and fall apart over the years? The video review mentions that after delivery it already had some marks and that the foam felt fragile. I remember having some foam toys as a kid and they didn't last more than a couple years before breaking down and looking awful.

I was originally thinking that I might get one in the end, but that Diorama is just too big and I don't have the space to display him, I also don't think it's worth $70 seeing how cheap it looks and the way that all the limbs come offf so easily and those awefull looking seams.

I will put my $70 towards what the new prop is going to be.
