Hi guys, I was surfing ebay looking for some parts for my soon-to-build proton pack… and I found this member called Propcrazed, selling his colletion of proton packs… those are very decent, unfinished props that would be a great start for me… but this guy don´t ship to Mexico… and as a mexican member, I can´t bid… and he has unavailable the contact section… cause I wanna know if we can work out a deal to let me bid (and luckily, buy) the proton pack.

here´s one of the props selling:
http://cgi.ebay.com/GHOSTBUSTERS-PROTON-PACK-Replica-Movie-Prop-99-L-K-/150507798549?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item230af6c015

I wanna know if anybody here knows who this guy is and where can I contact him… I did post this same thread on gbfans.com, but I didn´t know that I can´t put links to ebay when the selling isn´t mine, and it got deleted… so I came here (my fave GB forum), looking for help.

Thanks in advance.

I honestly don't think it's worth bidding on them, as there are some glaring inaccuracies, his Proton Guns don't have any handles, neither Packs have a V-hook to hang the gun, the Power Cell, Gear Box and Gun Mount have incorrect ribbing, he hasn't got any of the correct resistors or elbows, the EDA is monstrously huge.

In short, if you wanted one of them to be accurate, you'd have to do a lot of work to bring them “up to code”.

Most importantly, they don't appear to have an A.L.I.C.E. frame attached to them, making them unwearable, which is frankly unacceptable for something that's supposedly “98% complete”.

Thanks Ben, I was thinking of buying it to improve it and finish it… I decided to build my own proton pack, but I dunno anything about materials, I have no tools, and no talent… even the time, it would take me months to at least start the building. So I thought on buying this as a good start… but this morning I just realized that a workmate knows about electronics and materials, I show him the proton pack and he just told me he can help me build it… so, maybe I don´t need to buy this prop to start with, I can start from the very beginning.

Thank you once again Ben.

I wholeheartedly recommend the “friend” method, it'll be a great group project to work on, and I'm sure you'll gain a lot of confidence from the experience.
