I watched the end of Series 4 recently. Man, that was a brutal ending.

Certainly, there has to be a few American or UK fans on the board here.

My Dad was a huge fan of the original Doctor/s. I thought it was ok and would watch it but I Have to say that I really didn't get into it until the re-emergence of it with the new Series.

Doctor Who is one of the best things ever. FACT.

Also, Billie Piper tickles my fancy in ways I never thought possible!

Been a fan since 87. Started watching it on our local PBS. Still haven't quite adjusted to the new series yet. I think the new episodes are alittle too interconnected but I do love the throwbacks to the old series. The end of School Reunion was one of the best moments of the old or new series.

I watched the old series with my Dad on PBS when I was little, and he got me into the new series when it came out.

Ever since then, I've been a total fiend for it.

I've also been watching Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures.

But the end of Series 4 was out of control with everybody in the whole series returning. The ending was just crushing, though. I didn't like Donna at first in “The Runaway Bride”, but as the series went on, I think she's become one of my favorite companions.

My cousin was a big fan and told me about it just in time for a local station (the one that later became a Fox affiliate, and ran RGB) to start running the Tom Baker episodes. That's all they ran, though a few years later the local PBS station picked it up–and started with “Castrovalva”, which made an interesting transition.

I've only seen a few episodes of the new series. “The Satan Pit” was the most recent one I saw. I try to not let the fact that the newere fans are utterly crazy scare me away from the new show; (sigh) I remember the good old days, when Doctor Who wasn't about him having sex with Rose, or Martha, or the Master, it was about fighting Daleks, the Cybermen, or the Master.
