Anyone Into Doctor Who?

Sinister
Series 5 will be out in 2010, with four specials in 2009.
What the hell? Was there some sort of break down with negotiating the contracts for Series 5 or something? That sounds kinda dumb.

Kingpin: All the Cybermen in our universe were destroyed already. There's no use bringing them back cuz they already brought the ones from the parallel universe to ours to get destroyed.

Actually, Tennant's taking a break that year for a theatrical (stage) production.

Rather than replace him (Heaven forbid), they're just taking time off as well until he's ready to come back full-time.

From a choice between losing him and the show going on, or holding off and keeping him, I'm for the latter.

And, oh my goodness, Stephen Moffatt in charge in 2010? I'll have some of that. If only he could find some way to cross it with Coupling and bring Sarah Alexander and Kate Isitt back to my telly… *sigh*

Oh my god, I just got a humorous mental image of him as the Doctor in Hamlet.

Ah, i wouldn't really - just a moment of silliness cause I love Moffatt's writing and don't think he gets enough credit for Coupling - it was amazing, anything to get it more attention! But yeah, i'm used to the bemusement - the amount of time I spend cheerleading for the awesome Katie Puckrik illicits equally blank stares! What can I tell you, i apparently have odd tastes!

Sad news, everyone:

David Tennant's leaving after the 2009 specials. And, yes, it does come from official sources, though I can't find a link right now–I thought it'd be common knowledge.
