It's a really weird but dark and interesting German horror fantasy drama adventure from Roland Emmerich before his hollywood career. It's about this boy with psychic and telekinetic powers that he gained after his dad kicked the bucket as he starts to communicate with his dad on a toy phone. He's an unpopular kid at school cause they think he's nuts for talking about his powers when they don't believe him, one day he finds a creepy little ventriloquist dummy in a abanoned mansion until he discovers it's possessed by a demon that wants to torment him, threaten his mother and friends including some of his city's folks with demons from another dimension as the young boy is the only one to save it.

It's a parody of Spielberg and Lucas films mixed with “Ghostbusters” as it's a fascinating and preety cool modern fairy tale. It scared the crap out of me when i was a kid even with that scary dummy when i was 5 in 1987 watching it on HBO and i adored it in high school in the late 90's as it became one of my favorite movies of all time yet the dummy still kind of gives me the creeps.

I have Making Contact (the English version) on VHS. It's an old copy, and the plot doesn't make much sense…I imagine the German version makes more sense.
