ATTENTION: Protection Mode

The best way to win protection's 3rd round is to have one person keep the main baddie occupied while everyone else protects the disruptor from the little minions. If the people protecting the disruptor shoot the large enemy… you just draw him closer to the disruptor. There are too many people online that try to be the hero! Stop!

I actually think all you need is one person at the disruptor while the other three busters are running interference mid field. It doesn't take three people to take out a minion or two. I would also advice keeping stock on the shock pulse and meson collider. You can take the larger creatures (black slime monsters, marshmallow monsters, and graveyard golems) with 10 shots close range with the shock pulse. An added bonus with the shock pulse is that each shot causes the creature to stumble for a split second. So you can interrupt his attacks and just strafe circle him, blasting til he dies.

It is true that when someone stands near the PKE distruptor and shoots a large monster, it will draw the monster's attention. But Sii's strategy is more effective, especially when there are 4 players. One person is not enough interference with three large monsters running around.

That's works too. Either way… the person at the probe needs to stop shooting and just protect it.

Also, would people stop fucking around in “containment” by trying to use the proton pack to lower ghost's health. kthx

Using the blast stream should be the last resort, I agree. 3-4 shock blacks or an overload pulse will lower a ghost's health much more quickly. I use the slime tether and if I'm in a jam, I'll go for a stasis dunk to save time.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned this, but I've found that the easiest way to defeat beat the third round (especially on the ridiculously hard cemetery level) is to stock up on the stasis stream and keep freezing the gollum until time runs out. This works especially well since the gollum produces the minions, so if it's frozen it doesn't generate them. This was literally the only way I could beat Cemetery on Protection mode.

Haha, that's the only way I can beat them too.

Does the game glitch for anyone else sometimes to where there's just an explosion that happens on the PKE disruptor every few seconds, taking away your %? It has only happened to me a few times, but it's the worst.

I have had the problem. One of the skulls usually glitches underneath the level. But since the AI is drawn close to the disruptor, you could use a few shots of the overload pulse with the meson collider, and that should take care of him.

Yeah, best is to just slime tether every ghost into the trap.
