aykroyd involved with the new comic?

I'd LOVE to see Dan Aykroyd on board with this new Comic, but only if Harold Ramis (Or some other Comedic Genius.) is there to revise his too far-fetched unbelievable silly scripts! I didn't say this to sound rude or anything. Of course We all love that Guy, but earlier, someone said that he was actually a horrible writer, and that he was more of an idea and info Man.

The first draft of Ghostbusters didn't make hardly any sense. It was too much like Star Wars, and it didn't have a plot. It was basically this: Not to far in the Future, there was already a huge Ghostbusters business, with Franchises everywhere. Dan and John Belushi were the two main Characters, and they basically just went around to other dimensions and time-traveled (d_osborn said they only did this once, but I'm not too sure about that. . . ) to bust Ghosts (Actually, they were more like Monsters. I think most of them were around the same size as Mr. Stay-Puft, who actually was one of them!). According to either Don Shay, Harold Ramis, or Ivan Reitman, the Ghostbusters of this draft had no personality, whatsoever, while the Ghostbusters that we all know and love today, did (And still do.) indeed have very unique personalities.

The first draft of GB II was too much like the LOTR. Peter and Dana were married after the first movie, and had a Baby. Either Dana, or the Baby (Or possibly both of them.), were kidnapped, and taken to Scotland by a minature Civilization that lived underground.

Those are some strange plots, if you ask me. But I'm sure Dan would be able to do better these days. Imagine Dan and/or Harold working with JMS. :s :d

BTW, does anyone know if JMS will do any work on this new Comic? :0 :O

As I recall, in one of the now-removed news articles about the Revival, it was stated (and this may not be exactly right) Red would love to work with J. Micheal Straczsynski, but he's very busy with Spider-Man and his other projects

But man, it'd be cool.

Yeah, I remember that too.

Yes, that's where I remember hearing it.

They should get Fritz Baugh (Veedramon, duh! ) involved in this Comic, too. He's could become the next JMS! :s :d

I dunno about that

Aw, come on Veedramon, it'd be the chance of the lifetime.

I vote we sign up Mr. Fritz as a Continuity consultant/link to the fanbase. ‘Cause he sez he doesn’t know everything, but he comes pretty darn close. (I still don't think he's human.)
So when the comic writers try to screw something up, he can smack them with a wiffle bat for all of us.

I think it would be great to have JMS on board, and it would be really neat if they got all the writers from both GB and RGB back on the comic (all the good writers, anyway). Unfotunately, the likelyhood of that happening is about the same as being fatally mauled by a vacuum cleaner while being dragged into the closet by the Boogeyman.

Yes, actually I agree with Doc Reydale. This comic would certainly have the perfect blend of a ghostbusters expert with an excellent writer and that is exactly what this comic needs to succeed. I really hope Red sees this thread because with veedramon working on this comic as a writer there would be no dispute whether the stories are up to the standards of the great JMS.

D'Oh! C'mon, guys, this thread's about Dan Aykroyd, not me!!!

Not anymore it ain't. Looks like you've developed a following, supernatural boy.

*Cough* Uh, anyways, even if Aykroyd or JMS or whoever doesn't sign on as a regular, we could always hope they do a guest issue or something like that. (And Veedramon could do one too.)

so doc, you're saying you wouldn't want aykroyd on board if ramis wasn't helping out, too? IF dan is somewhat involved in the production of the comic, i highly doubt he will be writing anything, he will most likely be a consultant, at least that's what i've heard from mr. clavet.
