Aykroyd's original GB script/GB in Hell Script.

Has anyone ever read Dan's original script for Ghostbusters, the one set in the future where the GB's are already an established franchise?

I've been waiting for years for a copy to be leaked to the internets; I'd love to read it in its original form.

Same goes for his old GB III script Ghostbusters in Hell.

A few select people read the Ghostbusters III script, but were not at liberty to share it. I'd love to read it too, but I doubt it will ever get passed around.

As for Aykroyd's original script, given how long ago that was, I mean we're talking 1982-1983ish, I highly doubt that a copy of something that was probably only ever typed on a typewriter will make it onto the internet. It would be cool to read, but again, I highly doubt that's ever making it into anyone's hands.

Thanks for the reply.

I take it the new Aykroyd/Ramis GB: III is a total rewrite with nothing in common with the GBiH version?

Yeah, I doubt the original will ever turn up now, sadly. I'd truly love to read it. I feel the same way about the original BTTF script where the time machine was a fridge.

I love the script you can read on the Making Ghostbusters book, but Dan´s first drag of the script could be VERY INTERESTING to take a look on.

I read somewhere about that fridge idea… but they rejected it cause they don´t wanted to be sued later by parents whos kids where frozen to death on their home´s fridges LOL

Aykoryd and Ramis did not write this script. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupinksy, the writers from The Office, were commissioned to write the script for this. Ramis and Aykroyd are adding their insights and some ideas, apparently, but they are not the major writers of this script.

A lot of ideas from the GBiH version were present in the video game, and although some may still make it into this new draft, it is doutbful.

It wasn't that they were worried about the kids freezing, its that they were worried about them suffocating. That's why people are supposed to take the doors off of a refrigerator if they put it out on the curb for trash pick-up. There were instances where kids were climbing into them, and then suffocating because they ran out of air.

Can't argue with you there, Sir!

Of course, you're right, I'd completely forgotten.

I love the video game. Hoping for a sequel…

That bothers me. I'm not a fan of The Office, and Aykroyd & Ramis are gods to me.

Even though I wasn't overly impressed with GB:II (as compared to the original of course…)(*peter)

I am a The Office fan, and knowing that Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupinksy are working on the script, gave me good hopes about the 3rd film.

I second this. The guys are quite funny, and I can see them, in collaborating with Aykroyd and Ramis to ensure the feel and terminology of things are correct, banging out an amazing third movie.

Keep in mind, if you loved the video game, have an open mind about new writers, OUTATIME. Even though the video game was advertised as having been written by Aykroyd and Ramis, that has since come out to be not entirely true. They basically consulted, as they are on Ghostbusters III, and made sure the feel and terminology were correct. They were not as involved in the video game script writing process as we were originally lead to believe, and look how great the video game turned out.
