This weekend the Arizona Ghostbusters participated in our third local MS Walk. The MS Walk was our first major charity event when we started out back in 2007 and has always been very special to us. We have formed a very close relationship with the organization and help them when we can. We have been raising money for the walk during several of our last events. On Friday November 6th, 2009 we hosted a fundraising booth again at the 1st Friday Art Walk in downtown Phoenix. This was also the first time we brought the Ecto-AZ to the event. The car was an instant hit with the crowds. Thanks to a new set up at the event the street infront of our booth was closed to host artist booths which helped improve traffic flow. Many talked with us about the Phoenix New Times article on us that came out last week.

On Saturday November 7th, was the walk itself. The walk was 5 miles around the Phoenix Zoo, Botanical Gardens and surrounding park. This is the longest walk we participate in and completed it in full gear as always. We set our booth up to collect some last minute donations and handed out our custom MS buttons. Our local 501st Stormtrooper Garrison was on hand as well celebrating their 10th year participating in the walk. Due to a power failure at the walk area, we were able to lend a helping hand by pulling the Ecto up to the starting line and allowing the walk organizers to use the cars built in loudspeakers to make their announcements. We raised $1000 total in donations and is the most we've been able to raise for a single walk in along time. As a thanks to our participation over the years, our logo was placed on the back of the official walk shirts. Friday and Saturday were a blast and as always we can't wait till next year's walk.

D'you know, looking at that ambulance again, I'd swear it's the same make and model used for the Great Lakes Ghostbusters Car, or whatever it was called. I wanted to see it at some Lemonade Stand cancer fundraiser thingy last year…turned out it had already been sold a few months beforehand–the twunts!

Not sure if I'm familiar with that one. I know there are several high-top ambulance ones around like the one near Salem I believe it is.

Just realized I forgot to put a pick up of the walk shirt:

Here's the Great Lakes one. The memory cheats, but it's the front that bears the resemblance.

Okay yeah I have seen that one before. Yeah pretty much all GM 70's models look similar.

Here's some more good pics I got from the walk. The pic of the crowd around the car is my new favorite picture. Really looks like we're savin' the day.
