This last weekend was another busy weekend for both our branches.
On Saturday November 6th, 2010, the Phoenix branch participated in their 4th local MS Walk on the Wild Side. The MS Walk is 5 miles going through our local Zoo, Botanical Gardens, and surrouding park. It is the longest walk we do each year. We raised $300 for this walk. At the Walk itself we set up the Ecto-AZ near the starting line and let the walk with the local 501st Dune Sea Garrison. As always it is one of the greatest events we do and was a blast. Luckily here in Arizona it has finally begun to cool down some. We had the great honor of our logo being on the back of the official walk t-shirts again this year.
Also on Saturday the Southeastern Arizona Ghostbusters participated in their first Tucson Comic Con. The con is growing by leaps and bounds. Our team set up a booth to help collect funds for Kierra's Courage, which is helping to buy a girl a handicap van. This charity is what our next screening of Ghostbusters 1 & 2 will be benefitting. The team collected funds and mingled with the crowd and got a spot on the local Fox TV station.
On Sunday, the Phoenix Branch participated in their first “Partners In Prosperity” Block Party and Car Show. We set up a booth with the Ecto-AZ and collected funds for 4 of the local police and sherriff's department's youth organizations. One of the highlights was getting to see Elvis lately.
A busy weekend but we have another one just around the corner.
