On Saturday, February 27, 2010, the Arizona Ghostbusters participated in their 3rd Phoenix Heart Walk. The Heart Walk is one of the biggest charity walks in the Phoenix in terms of attendance. The walk is 4 miles around Tempe Town Lake near the ASU campus. We had 6 busters and 4 walkers on our team. There was rain in the forecast for a change but luckily it passed and the weather turned out perfect for a walk. We had a great response from our fellow walkers and encountered a record number of children recognizing Ghostbusters which is always a good sign. As always we can't wait till next years walk.

At the end of the walk we were paid a special visit by board member AmandaAnn and her daughter Haley, whom everyone knows as the children's category winner in the GBfans costume contest last fall. They are in town visiting family and got in touch to stop by the walk to meet us. As a surprise for Haley, we gave her the first of our new raffle items we plan to use, which is a Tootsie Roll style “Portable Containment Unit” bank made by a friend of ours. It is a thick cardboard tube cut down with various GB labels and resin endcaps. It was an honor to meet Haley and her mom. Haley is one of the biggest little fans out there and really knows her stuff. The future of GB is in safe hands.

Thanks. There was a time when we matched closer but lots of use and washing them they've faded out differently. We need to hit the reset button because we dye them.

Her mom said a year ago they let her pick a movie off the shelf to watch and she picked Ghostbusters. Now they have to watch it several times a week. She has all the RGB equipment but they're in the middle of a move so it's all packed up. Haley said her favorite scene is in the library when they yell “Get her!”

When I was a kid I covered my eyes during that scene.

Should Mattel do a Library ghost figure, I imagine that'd make quite a nice Birthday/Christmas present for her.

Hopefully, I know she has all of the current mini-mates and she talked about wanting the neon sign. I forgot to mention we gave her one of our team shirts as well. Something we've stopped handing out since they started appearing on ebay, but this was a good exception.

People've been reselling then on eBay? That's just not on.

But the decision to give her one was right.
