Beetlejuice Sequel!

Seth Grahame-Smith, author or Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is writing a script for a new Beetlejuice movie. He has confirmed that the movie will be a sequel and not a remake (thank God). It is supposed to take place 26 years after the first movie. It is rumored that Tim Burton will return as director and Michael Keaten will return as the ghost with the most! It is unknown if any of the previous cast will return. Who else is excited for this movie?

Can't say I'm excited, I don't think a sequel is neccesary… but if it has to happen, then if Keaton and Burton (and Elfman) can be brought back and recapture the lightning of the original then that'd give it a good start.

Sequels made a long time after the original are rarely good, though there are a few exceptions. And if most of the people who made the first will be back then hopefully it might not turn out to bad.

While it's something I've always hoped for, it should have been made at the latest 10 years ago. Maybe 15 years ago. As long as “Son Of” doesn't get attached to the movie title, it should be good.

in the history of film, when has it worked when a sequel is made 15 years after the original? Same reason why I don't think GB3 should be made, it'll suck.

Tron Legacy, separated from the original by a staggering 28 years.

The fourth Rambo movie came out 20 years or so after the last sequel to.
Though to be fair there are more bad examples than good in the category of very late sequels. Indiana Jones 4, Peter Pan 2, Superman Returns, Star wars episode 1 and Crocodile Dundee 3 to name some. While I didn't mind some of these they seemed to fail critically and were widely disliked by the fans of the old films if I recall correctly.

I'd see it, and if Micheal Keaton is returning as Beetlejuice, then I'd want to see it even more.

Rocky Balboa came out almost 20 years after 5 and it was pretty dam good (although Stallone did put a lot or heart in the story). This is more like one of those where I'd want to see for the hell of it like possible Bill and Ted 3 (yes, Keanu Reeves said he'd love to do it, they're just trying to work out a script).

I would have no interest what-so-ever if Keaton doesn't return

If Keaton returns, i'll be there opening night. I can take or leave Burton at this point. His recent films don't live up to the magic he had in his early years.

Ever since the early nineties i've been saying that Burton should have made another Beetlejuice instead of the abomination known as Batman Returns.
