i want to start collecting ghostbusters/real ghostbusters comics, but when i went onto ebay i saw there were a lot of different sets made.

my question is, which is the best set to start collecting? the one i saw most was a set called “Now Comics”.

Best longrunning set: Now

A few of the stories were a little flakey, but overall the series was pretty good, nice and original and sympathetic toward the source material.

Best for a youngsters: Marvel

I would not recommend these for the serious comic fan, they frequently fly against stuff established in the show and are filled to the brim with groaner jokes (Ecto-1 will attest to this).

Best short set: 88MPH

If you can find the singular issues then do so… a good series despite the problems that have affected it and it's worthwhile if you can either find the Zeddemore Factor convention exclusive (Although it is in black and white) or the softcover book (That is unless you want to wait an indefinate amount of time for the hardcover).

It's from Will Meugniot's site, Storyboardpro.com, which shows off his works.

Story-wise, “Legion” is an entertaining read. I wished the conclusion hadn't been wrapped up quite as quickly, but it nailed the personalities of the characters. Nice art and colors, too.

The four-issue set should be easy to find.

Personally, it seemed like Legion was a setup for the return of Gozer to me. The ancient voices calling out for their blood, as Mike said just before Ray knocked his lights out, I think thats why the story felt like it wrapped up too quick. But I do agree, 88mph mini-series is prolly the best. Its a singular story that is a good read for whenever and you dont have to worry about getting left with a cliffhanger.

Honestly, I think that would have been even worse than the near two-year hardcover delay.

Try to imagine if issue #4 still hadn't come out yet?

It's probably safe to guess Sebastien won't be at Comic-Con this year.

I didn't know about the Now comic stories. I remember the Marvel stories and the Ghostbusters Comic really well. I also remember the stories being quite corny and I seem to remember bad jokes appearing quite often. There was also a strip featuring Slimer and not the Ghostbusters which featured Slimer's friend Billy Bones, which was quite unusual as Slimer never had ghosts as friends in the series, I always remember other ghosts scaring him, in fact.

Sadly, Marvel's UK comic was more kiddy orientated… and the humour reflected that.
