i like the idea of a cameo, cuz it would not be ghostbusters with out a venkman, it would make the team suffer as a whole, then it just might kill the gb's forever, however if he did a cameo as to introduce the new gb's that would be different.

It would be nice for Murray to do that because then GB3 would be made. He is the only one preventing it.

In my opinion, if we're talking about a whole “new generation” of ghostbusters, than who needs Murray? Just have Ray, Egon, and Zedmore as older ghostbusters who aren't as skilled as they were, and need to find and train new ghostbusters. Let the script say something like “Venkmen's World of the Psychic got popular and he didn't want to leave it.”

Wow this is an old post. Anyway, I would rather Bill play a starring role in it. But if he doesn't that would be okay as long as the majority of the original cast returned.
