Bonus Items

I was just wondering what sort of items you guys would like to receive as a preorder bonus or what extras you would like to see included in a potential Special/Limited/Collector's edition of the game. *

I think either way some in-game content would be nice, but without much knowledge about the game it's hard to determine what sort of content would be appropriate.

Of course no collector's edition would be complete without the obligatory “making of” DVD. Aside from that however, something I would really like to see would be commentary tracks from the developers, writers, and cast.

Also, it wouldn't matter much to me (or anyone else here, I would imagine), but I wouldn't be surprised if they included the Ghostbusters movie on the blu-ray disk for the PS3 version of the game similar to the Stranglehold/Hard Boiled package that came out last year.

So anyway, what are your thoughts on this? What type of swag do you desire most?

*I must insist that no one make any lame “hot beverage thermal mug, and free balloons for the kids” jokes. Please. :p

Commentary tracks? A making of DVD? What is this a movie set? Do they actually do stuff like that for video games?

Yeah, making-of DVDs are more or less considered standard in collector's editions. And as far as I know, only Valve puts commentary tracks into their games, but I've really enjoyed them and would like to see other studios incorporate them.

Not trying to joke around, the mug and the balloon would be pretty cool.

Good question…

Maybe a soundtrack, although it sounds like they're using Bernstein's score… and I already own that, so I wouldn't be benefitting. :p

It's a hard one, Pandamar. Difficult to think of something appropriate. That said, in the absense of something media based, I could see a cool collector's case like the Master Chief helmet for the Halo 3 set, but maybe in this case the display case would be a Ghost Trap, or a Proton Pack.

I might drop by later if I think of something appropriate and small.

Maybe for the Wii, something like this:

but in a particle thrower shape.

That could be just G R E A T!!

Great idea and not really that hard to do. I bet someone in the Propping community will wind up making a Proton Gun adaptor for the Wii even if the people behind the Wii version of the game don't make an official one.

I honestly think doing something like they did with Halo 3 like Kingpin mentioned would be awesome…have the whole thing housed in a Replica Ghost trap or something. Maybe do sometihng like Mass effect and Assasins Credd and have a booklet that has some info in it…like whats happened in the GB world since GBII to get people caught up to the point of the game or maybe a booklet with concept / graphic art in it.

A black tee with the No-Ghost logo in the front (with the words THE VIDEOGAME on it, of course) and the Sierra trademark in the back (not too big, only like a label, just below the neck) would be nice too.
