Boston Globe: "GB3 to start filming this fall"

Straight from Dan himself. Dan was chatting on boston.com (the Boston Globe website) to promote the new House of Blues club opening in Boston. The first question was about GB3. Here is his response:

Dan, I'm extremely excited for the HOB to be back in its birth-city!! I will be attending many shows. On a side note, and I'm sure you get these questions a lot, so I apologize in advance…Ghostbusters 3? I've heard that the writers of the Office are currently penning a script? How is this coming along, and should we look forward to this movie seeing the light of day? Thanks Dan!

Sad to say I have checked around the movie sites and other message boards and have found nothing of this…..guys….what do you all think…thanks for the info tho ectoboston!!!

I wouldn't hold my breath just yet. The question of Ghostbusters 3 has been on for a while, and Dan has spoke of it for a while and the date tends to change every time.

Im hoping to god that.

1) its not a rumor.

2) this thread doesnt get locked so i can hear more from you. (because every rumor-thread is blocked.)

3) that Dan isnt giving us false hope.


but this is news to me. could be a fanboy, trying to pose as Dan, stirring up a bunch of hoopla. or its really Dan, but he just has high expectations of it happening. theres tons of explainations. but im hoping he's right! haha.

Its crazy to think that Dan always talks about it….isnt there another post that has someone from here saying GB3 is a no?? They even talked to him personaly??

yes unfortunately it was locked, because of some individual whose enthusiasm for a new film is his calling card, in which gets him into alot trouble. so we never heard about anything else that was said from that conversation.

“Key word” is an understatement. Still this is the best news regarding the possibility of a GB3 in a loooong time.

I'm not so sure about this. I'm not calling anyone a liar, so sorry if anyone thinks that. But Someone said that Dan said no to GB 3 and he had proof he met him. Besides, is it me or did Dan say he would love to make a movie with Gene Hackman. Maybe I misunderstood. But didn't Dan already make a movie with Gene?

Like I said, I'm not stating any facts. I'm just curious.
