I never implied that that was the real Dan Aykroyd. I did respond to ‘his’ letter ranting and asking ‘him’ questions including quoting the Boston Globe chat transcript that was posted on here….and I have gotten no response yet….Yeah you would think he would spell things right and know that the game is to be released in June not July….lol…What an idiot!! I am going to wait for this person's response…it could be quite interesting….Obviously this is yet another phony try to be Dan…::sigh::

Yeah I seriously doubt that much has changed in the past like 3 weeks since his radio interview where he talked about GB3… Plus he talks about “his” script rather then Eisenberg & Stupnitsky's.

Oh,no..I wasn't saying that you didn't believe me, but I was just putting it out there that I am skeptic of this Dan Aykroyd wannabe….So you're fine Doctor Venkman ^_^.

I'm honestly quite confused right now, because There has been so much hype (and I've seen on the news…even local stations here in Pittsburgh) about GB3 in consideration and the script will be written by ”The Office“ writers Lee Eisenberg and Greg Stupnitsky. Plus on a recent note from the Boston Globe that you stated in a chat on ”boston. com“ (the Boston Globe website) supposedly a interview about promoting the new House of Blue that will be opening in Boston. So, what is going on, Mr. Aykroyd? If all of this isn't true, I would hope you make some kind of public statement to Ghostbusters fans that their dreams of GB3 as a film has been flushed down the toilet once again and will only have the video game to serve as GB3. If it is alright, I have posted your letter on a Ghostbusters message board of which I have been a member of since 2004 (after the site's renovation) but actually since 2000. All I am saying that the Ghostbuster fans have been let down so many times already with hype of GB3 throughout the years since GB2, it would be fair to set records straight instead of this news going back and forth; “It being made…no wait no it isn't…” kind of stuff. I would seriously, along with other fellow GB fans would like to have the records straight about GB3; we all just had enough with getting our hopes up and then let down again and again.

Mr. Aykroyd, if this is really you on here, which I would like it to be, since I have admired your work in the past, and still admire you today. I am saying this because there have been so many phonies on here saying that they are ‘Dan Aykroyd’ and it is found that they are not. I don't want to be disappointed if this is not really the Dan Aykroyd that I am a fan of and admire greatly. Hope to hear from you again soon!

Well he did reply….here is his response to my ranting:

Doreen, Hello once again. Usually I do not reply to fans as I am to you. For the precise reason, there are many phonies out there. Honestly, I was not aware until recently that one could create alternate websites claiming to be who they are not.

As for the production of the film; I only state what it told to me at a given time by studios, execs, film makers, writers, and of course the actors involved.

As of -this moment-, I am told the project is scrapped. In the future, should this change ( as by now you are aware it has a tendency to do ) I will announce it both here and publicly.

At present Doreen, I have many other projects in the works, and ones that are not currently verified must be put on the back burners until further notice. The information I am about to give is not to go any further as it too is still up in the air. I presently have a third Blues Brothers film in the works. IF put into production, it will star myself as Elwood, and Jim ( Belushi ) as Zee Blues, his alter ego when we do shows around the country with Jim's real life band, The Sacred Hearts.

Back to GBIII for a minute. I do not currently have enough commitments from actors, writers, directors and so forth. I will keep you and other interested fans posted.

If you could send me a link to this GB message board you spoke of, I would be most appreciative. In closing, let me just say that over my 30+ year career, and all the fans I have met, few have ever been as concerned about my work as you certainly seem to be. It is a very very good feeling to have people appreciate what you do so much. Had I known a few weeks back that you are located in Pittsburgh, I would have given you notice. Jim and I were in Philly with Have Love Will Travel review we do. It was a small event for charity.

GBs is one of Dan's “babies”, the day he doesn't know what's going on with it, is the day monkeys fly out of his butt.

Dan has been in the business for awhile now, and it's hard enough for trusted members of the media to get contact info for/from him, and I think he's a lot smarter than, to give a fan (a complete stranger) his personal contact info, with the assumption that, it will not be “passed on to others”…wouldn't happen!

There's a lot more that tells me that this is most likely NOT the real Dan Aykroyd, but then again? it is from Myspace, the place where nobody makes up fake celebrity pages, and claims to be someone that they're not. lol (*egon)
