Hi there Ghostheads!

After some time, it is my absolute pleasure to show you all some “project updates” from our BRAZILIAN PROTON PACK PROJECT.

We are working in it since 2008. It started with a huge study for a good proton pack plans. So, we found (and followed) some plans avalable at GBFans.com, in each inch. I just don't remember who's plans we used (I'll check with my partner to see if he remembers).

Then, we made the plans in a local plain paper, in 1:1 scale. After that, we made the 1st 3D model, using cardboard. Here is the photo of this step:

The next step was make the base model. This was made in a harder material, to be sculped and get all pack's details.

And, after that, we made the final base model, that will be used to make the negative silicon model.

Here are some photos from our final base model.

A detail photo from our final bumper:

And here, the silicon modeling:

And we did not forget the gun! Here is the final base model for the gun:

All pieces will be modeled in FYBERGLASS and will receive a black painting layer (to improve pack's color), after leaving the silicon mold.

We shoul have the 1st pieces made soon. And as soon as we have it, I'll post photos here.

Now comes some good answers, for everybody's questions:

- PRICE? We are still calculating it, BUT we are working to offer the complete packs (ready to wear) at US$500.00 + shipping each one (no electronics).

- WILL IT BE AVAILABLE WITH ELECTRONICS? We are chatting with some guys out there in hope to get a partnership. We are trying hard to have this source for the electronics. Let's see how it runs. Anyway, the 1st pack made (that I may use it for myself) should have R2DVO's electronics. I sent him a message and now, I'm awaiting his contact by the way.

- CAN I ADD ELECTRONICS (LIGHTS AND SOUND) TO THIS PACK? Answer is YES! The pack and gun will be hollow, so you can add your electronics. The gun will have a door, closed with screws, for easy access.

Well, I'll try to bring here more progress photos and reports. In the meantime, I would love to hear all your comments.

And please, if you have any hints and/or suggestions, don't hesitate! Just send me them in PVT at ftpvinicius@gmail.com OR just leave it here, in this topic.

Thanks and looking forward to read your comments about our project

Guys,

Just a small comment. My friend remeber who's plans he is following. It's Stefan Otto's Prop Plans, available at GBFans.com ( http://www.gbfans.com/equipment/plans/stefan-otto/ ).

Just to let you all know.

Thanks and keep commenting, please!

June 18th - TODAY NEWS!

We got the silicon mold OUT of the base mold. Some small pieces did not worked, but it should be easy to make another try. The most important is that we got success in the main shell's mold and for the gun's.

Check the photos. And you can see a person in two images, to help you see the scale.

The next steps are:
- Make the 1st pack's fyberglass shells
- Remake the mold for the small pieced that failed
- Make the smaller pieces.

Please, keep your eye open for the next updates.

And keep commenting

Thanks!

Hi there ghostheads!

We are very proud to announce we got our very 1st proton pack and proton gun shells!

Photos below shows it exactly how it came out from the silicone mold (untrimmed), so, don't repair this detail.

Now we are working in a second pack's and gun's shell and finishind the 1st pack.

1st Proton pack shell

Here are the proton gun body and the ion arm's tower (not sure if this is the correct name).

Any comments, guys?

Hi there guys!

I got some update from our pack's project today.

My partner just sent me some photos from our 1st run of packs. He got 9 (nine) pack shells out of our SINGLE mold! Check the photos below:

More than these, he is now taking some small pieces now. Here we have some photos from our bumpers.

And, to end this update, we see some photos from our gun's pieces.

All pieces are fyberglass, so I guess it may be a bit more resistant than resin (I guess - not affirming, since I'm not sure).

And all photos shows the pieces without trimming, since we finished the big pieces' molding process and we are now making the smaller pieces.

Let me hear from you all, guys.

Hi there ghostheads!

It took a long time before we could have some news about this project and we hope you all could forgive us. The money (that this kind of work requires) is always near to “zero” and we should collect some bucks before having some progress made.

Well, let's stop the “crying” moment and show what's new:

We have some shells made. Now we are modeling the smaller pieces and getting the sources to supply us the details.

Adhesives are done and awaiting to be glued in their final places.

Check the photos below:

One of the pack's shells in detail

Isn't it a lovely collection?

Well, here you have a small video, from where these photos were taken from:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yO5BRVqoFI0

Our next steps are:
- Get all hoses and cables
- Put together a proton gun
- Finish our pack's lights electronics prototype.

Of course, as soon as we complete these steps, we'll post news here.

Hope you all enjoy it, for now.

Thanks!

The shells look pretty nice, but what is up with the bumpers? They look WAY too wide.
