I am an amatuer filmmaker that has been working on a Ghostbuster fanfilm. The script still needs some work, as does the finalization of actors, but ideally I would like to start shooting this upcoming summer, if not sooner. Is there anyone that owns a replica Ecto-1 in the NYC area that would be willing to let us use it in the movie? I can promise that the car would hardly be used, mostly for background shots, nothing fancy or damaging to the car. I also invite the owner to play a role in the film if they would like. I am more than happy to answer any questions posted. Please let me know if anyone is willing and/or interested.

My memory's a bit fickle… but I'm not sure if there are any Ecto-1 replicas within the greater New York area.

There's also a likely chance you won't be succesful in securing one as the owner might be unwilling. From observation I'm yet to see any requests for an Ecto-1 replica be furfilled.

How much money have you got that you're willing to spend on this fan film? You could customise a car so you'd have you own Ecto-1 replica… you'd be able to use it as much as you needed and in some ways having a car that isn't a 1959 Cadillac would be more ‘original’ then using a ‘59 Caddy.

Not that I don’t like it if people are able to get a car like that, but almost everyone who wants to do a fanfilm and doesn't own one wants one. :p

I saw ecto-1 replicas made out of little town cars to SUV's! I had an
ecto-1 replica for halloween I took my dads station wagon and put some panit on it and some police lights just to have for halloween it look
pretty good! We got rid of the car I hope to buy one day a 1959 Cadillac
Ambulance limo style end loader or a Miller Meteor to build My Ecto-1 replica out of but to make one you can use any car that is reasonable
I saw an ecto-1 replica made out of a 1973 Cadillac and it look good!

If you search google you will find pics of Ecto-1 replicas built out all kinds of cars.
