Can't edit my posts

Specifically my sale thread in the Marketplace. I'm logged in (duh), but am not seeing an Edit button/option. I recently upgraded to Firefox 4, but IIRC this started happening before the upgrade.

Is this a board-wide issue or just me for some reason?

My view of the forums is affected by the fact my profile is set to a Moderator profile, but I believe with your post, the Edit button should show up beside the Quote button, if I'm not mistaken.

It should, but its not for me either.

Hmm, well, as a rough guess maybe the absence of edit buttons, if recent, is along similar lines to how GBFans got rid of the unlimited window of time a post can be edited. I'll drop Chad a line.

I'd think that sale posts would be allowed unlimited edits by the owner to keep things organized…

I noticed the lack of an edit button on my posts as well. Even ones there were not a month old. I thought I was just crazy noticing that. I'm glad others have noticed as well.

I've gotten a reply from Chad concerning this, he recently removed the editing option due to cases of spam content being edited into posts.

That unfortunately being the case means that everyone's going to have to think even more carefully about what they post (in order to avoid coding errors, spelling mistakes etc.)

Ah. OK, no big deal. I realize it'd be impossible to allow edits for only sale threads; seems ‘messy’ to me to have a new reply post every time something is added or sells, but it's workable.

Thanks a sprocking lot, spammers. One more way the jerks are ruining it for the rest of us.mad

But Ben, that might mean thinking first, and using the “Preview Post” button.smile

It kinda bones me a little bit too, as I used to update the links to my latest fan fic in my fan fic threads. Ah well…

Drop me a line if you want to have that done, Fritz.
