Cartoon/Fan Fic Franchises that exist now or want to exist READ THIS.

I don't see Nightsquad, Nomad, Ecto-Force, or any of the other “teams” as franchises. I see them for what they truly are – “Fan Fiction Teams” or Groups.

A franchise consists of Real characters, Real equipment, etc. Louis Tully can break it all down for you, but from now on all posts concerning these “Fan Fiction Teams” will be posted in the “Fan Fiction” section.

Mods have just been notified of this update and will move all posts, so please keep this in mind.

I just need some clarification on something.

What do “real” franchises do? Besides building props and stuff, what do they do?

What sets us apart? I don't see any fan fiction from them. How do they document their “cases”?

Why are they better than us? Personally, I will go with whatever is best for NOMAD, Nightsquad, and Ecto Force but frankly I don't want to be a part of this ridiculous GBI. You act as if this Louis is real.

No, you misunderstand.

You are comparing “Apples to Oranges”. Fan Fic Teams and Franchises are no better than the other. They are just simply two very different entities.

Fan Fic Teams create fictional characters which are represented in either fan fic, comic, art, cartoon, etc form. There are no rules, everything is free form.

A GBI Franchise is a whole other beast. To be considered a franchise, YOU have to assemble with other friends in your area. Make props, build a site, take photographs, etc. There is a considerably more SPECIFIC effort in becoming a GBI franchise. Fan Fic teams do not represent themselves in this fashion.

Therefore the whole “apples and oranges” philosophy comes into play. This decision was not meant to discredit anyone in NS EF or any other Fan Fic Team. It was simply a rule made so the lines were clearly drawn and no more confusion remained among the community on this matter.

Well, Nightsquad is on the master franchise list…

We have the equipment and the uniforms, but not the technology to get pictures on the site. Dr. Belmont offered to make realisted drawing according to date sent to him by my guys.

Would we be officialized by these “catoonerized” pictures of us?

You're talking out both sides of your mouth, “Fan Fic Teams are No better than Real Franchises or Vice Versa” is essentially what you're saying. Then why must WE be regulated to the friggin' fan fiction forum then? No better my butt man. People work hard on these things, Just as hard as “Real” Franchises do. They put in man hours, They write, draw, webdesign to put out a quality product just in the hopes that they can be a franchise DESPITE that they don't have the means to be together with their teammates and now you're telling me despite all their hard work they now can't be a franchise? Now they're just regulated to be a “Fan Fic Team”? Well I say thats bullmess. We work just as hard as anyone else. Now you're saying Nightsquad is already franchise but what gives us the right to be the only one? Other people should have a fair shake at it too! Granted they should only be allowed if their turning out good quality product but still THEY SHOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE A FRANCHISE.

You say we base our characters on fiction, That itself is a big load of bullmess too. The only thing fictional about us are our names and the fact we're playing Ghostbusters. Everything else is taken directly from the real person, Personality in the stories, The way characters are drawn in pictures. THAT IS US, WE ARE THE CHARACTERS, THERE'S NOTHING FICTIONAL ABOUT IT. The way you talk it's like we make up totally new characters out of the darned either that nobody has ever heard of. NO, We base our characters on ourselves, we don't just make this crap up. We work dang hard to make sure the characters are like us as well and not just a bunch of made up crap.

I know you're gonna say “Well point out some of these teams that want to be franchises” I could, but now because Chad has posted against it they're gonna be like “Oh no, we never wanted to be a franchise to start with” THERE'S THE DILEMMA!

There's my 2 cents on this whole big load of pure unadulterated bullcrap.

Why are you spinning the facts? Chad never said that fan fiction teams do not work hard. GBI has had this policy for a long time. Why are you all of a sudden upset with it? You seem to be the only one now who is still angry after Chad explained the differences between a franchise and a fan fiction team. Just let it be man. All franchises and fan fiction teams do excellent work but they are completely different things man.

You are making this into a big deal.

I don't care what you call it. Fan Fiction team, etc. It's no better than a Franchise and vice versa. The fact is it's NOT a franchise. Just like a automobile is not a motorcycle. One isn't better than the other, they are just different modes of transportation.

This is not a demotion or anything of the sort. GBI is something that a few individuals spent a WHOLE lot of time on for years. You can't just expect them to change their rules to accomidate you when you get a new idea.

This is your chance to explore and create a whole new opportunity, just like the franchisers did when they started out.

All in all, you are acting immature and it's not appreciated. At the very least you better watch your language.
