There was a rumor floating around that Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Steve Carell, and Mos Def were going to be the core of the new group. How much truth there is to it is another question. Still no Seth Rogen makes me happy. Also with Ivan Reitman, and Harold Ramis both turning down the directing job, Shawn Levy director of Night at the Musem, and Night at the Musem: Battle of the Smithsonian is rumored to be in talks to direct.

The Ben Stiller aspect of that “rumor” has been circulating for awhile now.

I wouldn't mind some of the Apatow crew…

by that I mean

Bill Hader
Peter Siegel (he is busy on the next Muppet project though)
Paul Rudd
Elizabeth Banks
Leslie Mann or even Michael Cera

Michael Cera is not allowed to be awkward or nerdy anymore.

He's going to be Scott Pilgrim.

Doc, I think it's Jason Segel.

I'm a big Danny McBride fan, not sure if he would fit in to the movies but it could be possible. And I would like to see them go back to the roots in a sort of way, maybe picking the majority of the new cast out of SNL. Will Forte, Andy Samberg(maybe), you know some of the younger talent on that show.

As for female characters, I can't think of someone who can play seriously funny, so I wouldn't really know who else to add.

I could tolerate Ben Stiller being involved, but I'd love to see Carell along side Murray as a trainee.

No Jack Black or (especially) Mos Def plz.
