According to Satoru Iwata, it's “New-gen”.

I like the word “New-gen” better.

When I think of Next-gen…I think “A different way to play” which it still plays the same with the controller.

You know, with the news of the the GBII outfit being in the game, I kind of wish I could pre-order it from game spot or whoever is offering it. I loved that outfit. Maybe it will be DLC soon…..I hope.

yeah i new he was based on ryan french but cudnt be bovverd to see who it was, now i see that, lol its a definate, ryan must be buzzin, he can basically play this game as himself lol

well, i f u piont it that way, o.k.!
but i think next gen is:
ps, ps2, now ps3 or xbox, xbox360!
the wii came out by the time the ps2 was the model of choise!
so it isnt next-gen for me! but thats only my way of iterpretation!
what i also want to add is if the developer of videogame would do a real multiplatform game, the wii would finaly get rid of that “kiddy console” image!

Playstation, Playstation 2, and xBox aren't next-gen. Next-gen refers to the stuff that came after them. I believe that's when the term was actually coined, in fact.

Xbox 360 debuted in US on Nov 22, 2005
Playstation 3 debuted in US on Nov 17, 2006
Nintendo Wii debuted in US on Nov 19, 2006

As you can see, the Wii did not debut when the PS2 was the actual console generation.

Iif Wikipedia is to be taken as fact, we are currently in the 7th generation.

PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox is considered the 6th generation.
