how about peter and dana move to hawaii and just arent around for the flick.

then ray, egon and winston have to recruit somebody and they get…a 16 year old nerd from san diego…oh whoops that would be me.

it could work though.

chris farley was a john belushi wannabe minus the talent and a misinterpretation of who john was. fact is, john hated fat jokes and chris' entire repitoire wouldnt have existed without them.

chris died of heroin/morphine.

btw…dont be offended by what i just said. i do like chris. but hes not really a particular favorite.

Did you guys notice that once you showed Dr. Venkman the link with the information he never posted back? lol.

Haha, that's true, he hasn't. And I must agree somewhat with some of the opinions; Farley was talented, but relied too much on the fat, obnoxious, loud man syndrom. It works in some cases, but not 100% of the time. I have always believed that the players in GB are multi-talented (Aykroyd being the most talented, with Ramis coming in second, and Murray third; Murray acts the same in 90% of his movies, but his dry wit lends itself better to GB than obnoxiousness), and couldn't see myself entertained by Farley in the movie, unless he played it more like a shy big guy, who's into science, etc. And no, he never was going to replace Murray, he was going to be a new 'buster. BTW, thinking about it, Rick Morranis is also EXTREMELY talented and versitle, and often goes overlooked compared to the big 3.

Farley would have been awesome. Period.

And I thought that he was going to be cast as Venkman's brother or cousin or something?

Where the hell are you guys getting this Venkman stuff from? The only thing I ever saw on the subject was the link from Bill Emkow's website which said nothing to that effect.

I can honestly see Farley as one of the New Ghostbusters, see, what I would have done is scrapped the Extremes, these new guys would not be them. Will Smith would be great too, I mean c'mon, tell me you guys cant see that? Poor, poor Chris. Well…there is always Horatio Sans….mwahaha.

Yeah, Horatio does have a very farleyesque type persona. Though I always felt like ghostbusters had a more subtle sense of humor (more sharp and sarcastic comments) and not falling on tables and such, but I think Farley would have drawn a lot of the younger fans in.

He's right, Farley was being considered but according to imdb the studio dropped the film back then.

Chris Farley becoming a new generation ghostbuster would have fit. He idolized the first cast of SNL and followed in the foot steps of his idols (mainly John Belushi except for the fact that John was against fat jokes). So why wouldnt he want to work with his idols and the people who once worked with Belushi.
