Creating a physics system

What's the process involved in this? I know Skanker talked about Naughty Dog, etc creating such things, I am guessing programming is involved, I would like to learn someday and do the same like TR and all the other companies.

Any specific type of program involved?

There is a free physics program you can download that works really good for what it is.

I think this is it.

They do say the best way to learn is through practice….I guess.

So maybe if you play around with it long enough you can get the jist of it.

DevMaster.net is another great site to look into. they show some great technies, like ray tracing. sure you can learn bout a physics system there too.

I want to add this. This was a movie someone made using the blender engine to create some awesome game effects that we see today

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc9JWYuUa2o

As well as other movies if you go to the link on the sides that show even better things the blender engine can do.
