Why was Dana Not in the Game??

Because Sigourney Weaver opted out of being in the game. Same goes for Rick Moranis. If I remember right, the characters were originally in it.

because Sigourney Weaver didn't agree to be in the game until it was too late

and really, in the story where would she have gone? there was no place for her

I don't know about you guys, but I'd trade Sigourney Weaver for Alyssa Milano any day of the week.

I don't think she needed a big role, but a quick cameo or two would've been nice.

I agree a lot of stuff was recreated for the game from the movies, so why not have the bit in the apartment as a level? heck why not have the entire apartment building shes in as a level? that would be cool you get to explore the hotel extensivly

It seems stupid that she's only mentioned briefly. It seemed like he and Dana were going to get married at the end of Ghostbusters 2. Oh well.

Im very glad she wasn't in it. It would be too repetitive to make her the damsel again. Hell i think ghostbusters 2 would have been better if they focused on someone else.

I wouldn't say they would get married, but probably back in a relationship again. It bothered me a little that she wasn't in it at first, but that quickly faded once the I started seeing all the other guys.

I thought it was obvious that, had Weaver not turned them down the first time they asked, Dana would have had the role in the game that evolved into Illyssa Selwyn. The fact sheet Atari put out even mentioned her playing violin and cello–a bit of a vestigal trait from the orignal plan, I think.

Considering how heavily they leaned on the first movie, and worked to retcon in a connection between Vigo's plot and Shandor's, having Dana be the descendant of Shandor and central Macguffin of the plot would have gone a ways toward “justifying” her imporance in both movies.

But that didn't happen, and it seems to be Dana's place in the mythos to either be at the center of everything's attention, or ignored so completely nobody even mentions her.
