Aside from being an all around terrible idea, the thing that really bothers me about this game is that, apparantly, Ed Boon is completely full of shit.

He had been quoted many times prior to the announcement of this game saying that Mortal Kombat 8 was going to get back to the basics. A minimal number of fighters with Sub-Zero and Scorpion being the only returning characters and a completely new fighting system.

This is pretty much the complete opposite of that.

Sorry to hear that he was promising to return things to how they used to be in terms of enjoyment only to go back on his word with this… it's seeming more and more like an attempt to make a quick buck and get Mortal Kombat back into the public eye, and most likely at the expense of the quality.

DC vs. Capcom would've been better.

Personally, I'm still all for Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat.

A few days ago, I read MK vs DC WILL have fatalities… let me see if I can find the source.

I just got done reading an article in XBOX magazine which kinda announced the game you could say. It showed a picture of Sub-Zero vs. Batman, but they just showed their faces. They said it was to show off how great the graphics were but I doubt they're gonna be as good as the picture showed.

They stated that while DC was excited to work with MK, they wanted restrictions on thier characters. The creators of MK said that although they loved the idea of Sub-Zero ripping Batman's spine out, or Superman ripping off Sub-Zero's arms or vice-versa, it's just not gonna happen. DC is protecting thier characters pretty much from being “humiliated”.

This bums me out, when I first saw the headline and picture I was like “YES I get to rip off Batman's head”! But then I read it, and now I just don't care. Also I wish it woulda been Marvel, to see Wolverine battle Baracka woulda been cool, or Spider-Man vs. Lui Kang.

Fatalitys or not, I'm sure they got somthing to suprise ppl.
