Did Janine ever sleep? I seem to remember there be times I thought she lived at her desk and she worked a bit at night . I dont ever remember her getting but one one day off in the Real Ghostbusters show . If thats the case she would need a raise lol.

She got Christmas off in GB2… And she got the day off to go to the Gozer building in GB1 as there is that deleted scene of her saying goodbye to Egon and then her greeting him as he came out of the building during the end credits…

I don't know if that would be considered a “day off”… It was moreso that they wouldn't be worrying about any small time calls or class five's or anything like that since there was a demi-god about to drop in on Central Park West and start tearing up the city!

Plus, we've seen the guys answer the phones before. Its not impossible that they would answer the phones when Janine is off.

In addition to the GB1 reference of Janine's day off… the firehouse was kind of gutted when the guys went to battle Gozer. No phone to answer, no desk from which to answer it.

Yes, when Egon was examining Louis, Venkman called to tell them what happened to Dana. Egon answered (if I remember correctly). It's not like it's an impossible scenario. They've done a few times in The Real Ghostbusters too I believe.

I'm sure there is a private line and a business line. Is there any scene where one of the guys is down at Janines desk answering the public line?

Even so, that doesn't really change anything. They have the ability to answer the phone, it's not like it's an impossible task that only one person in the office can do.
