So what's so wrong with not wanting to offend people? It's been my experience so far that a large portion of the Ghostbuster fandom are horribly oversensitive, and as soon as one sets off, it balloons and becomes this huge fight that nobody really needs to see. We all know that it's a fruitless effort, especially when there are so many around here that exist merely to pee in other people's wheaties, but the fact that they're at least trying says to me that they care. I don't want a board where every word out of someone's mouth is at the expense of another. If I did, I'd visit Nightsquad.
As for the mods not being accountable at all, well…either way that's just bullcrap. If it's true, then it should be put a stop to. However, on the boards that I'm a mod for, we do not PUBLICLY call each other out. If there is a problem, or a question about how something is handled, then we will take it up amongst ourselves and deal with it out of the public view. This keeps a sense of solidarity among us that wouldn't be felt if we were at each other's throats all the time. Because that looks really unprofessional.
Of course, we have a “report this post to a moderator” function that is absent from this board…it might help with a lot of the more public battles if they were to implement one.
